The portrayal and the writing was so mean spirited and over the top that I looked into him to try and get a realistic view of him. I was left thinking that he was one of the greatest Americans of all time. A true believer that a small federal government was the best way for all Americans to prosper.I hope someday the Kushner estate is forced to pay damages to Cohn's ancestors.
Our nation has not always been so divided. I think the divisions can be traced to the mid 90s when the left become monsters. Angels is an example of their descent into cruelty.
Dude, it's okay to let Fox News and Breitbart to be your point of reference but please, Roy Cohn was chief counsel to Joe McCarthy for Gods sake and he personally tried to sue Martin Luther King for libel. This man was historically known as a hateful man on every metric. Just try to Wikapedia him for chrissakes!!!!! Just like our dear leader who has learned that lying can be an art form try to get a grip and do due diligence with your sense of respect for Mr. Cohn. You can't really be that blind to history. And a professed theatre guy yet with 10 of you that came before I assume??? :)

Curious as to what you did to "look into him to try and get a realistic view of him."
Believing in small government is one thing and you're absolutely entitled to that opinion - as was he. However Cohn was certainly oppressive in extolling his beliefs on everyone around him and lying, cheating, and manipulating whatever group, system, or individual he could to get what he wanted. He didn't want big government because he wanted to cheat and steal whatever he could without repercussions. I always find it interesting that people who make dramatic claims about big government overreach - something that comes from rebelling against an oppressive monarchical system - tend to consciously or subconsciously set up a dictatorship (or monarchy) unto themselves by erasing regulations that send in their way of greater, singular control. In no way are they advocating government for the people by the people but government for themselves and on the backs of the people.

Sometimes, there is no other response than "You are out of your f*cking mind."

Yeah, especially because you were arguably charitable in referring to him as a troll, since being a troll implies an intentionally deceptive act, which requires a level of intelligence that thetreguy11's post lacks on its face.
Has anyone ssen Beth in the part of The Angel? Curious to see what people think of her performance.

Ripped man thanks for writing. Part 2’s design is stunning. Part 1 is what I thought looked cheap as I said in my intial post. I’m not sure what they were going for with part 1s design at all. But part 2 is a GORGEOUS example of minimal design.
Do they keep all the sets coming from the stage? I thought that was gorgeous. And do they "zoom" back the ACt 1 set at the top of ACt 2? I thought that was cool!
This production truly treats the two parts as one play.
The design for Part I is indeed very spare, the characters inside boxes, all the way down "in One", and as the narrative spins out of control, they break from those boxes. Part 2's design is incredibly theatrical, though still minimal and industrial. At the end of Part I, I wondered what the unlit structure in the back was and whether it was worth not revealing. By the end, I absolutely loved it. This production is a slow burn, and so worth it.
