Hey, I'm surprised I haven't seen anything up here about Ann E. Wrecksick and the Odyssey of the Bulimic Orphans, particularly from all the 'bare: a pop opera' fans.

http://www.smarttix.com/show.aspx?showcode=ANN1

According to an email from one of the co-writers of the show, they're bringing what is sure to be a sick and twisted show to all of us here in NY. Now I can apologize for cursing all of you lucky theatregoers in LA who got to see it. I, for one, will be there on the 20th.

Anybody else going?

I've heard some of the music, and find it hillarious! Damon's done some good work here (a world away from the music of Bare in genre).

Can't wait to see it live, although I wish it were BARE, heh.

I saw the LA production this summer, and it was HILARIOUS. Terrible and wrong in every possible way, but HILARIOUS.

Out of curiosity, how did your hands on some of the music? I'd love a PM.

I have not heard good things about the LA Production.

"It does what a musical is supposed to do; it takes you to another world. And it gives you a little tune to carry in your head. Something to take you away from the dreary horrors of the real world. A little something for when you're feeling blue. You know?"

Bought my ticket for the 20th. Good music and bad taste in humor? I am so there!

You, me and MadeofGold. *tear* It'll be like old times.

I almost feel like resurrecting the bare thread.

Almost.

Labashier is absolutely right about this very funny and very weird show. I had a great time, but it's very very strange.

And as others have stated before, try the search mechanism:

Agrrrh!! Why does it have to be ending on March 19th! I am coming into town the following week! Darn if for bad timing again! Maybe I will be lucky and it will extend a little?

eslgr8, i wasn't writing about the LA cast, it was a post about NY, so please refrain from comments about the search function. i am fully aware of its function on this site. :) i hope this doesn't sound bitchy, but if it does, meh. i'm glad that people found it to be funny though. i'm sure it'll be a big departure from 'bare: a pop opera'.

I think I am going. I'm not sure when yet but I think it sounds hysterical. I love inappropriate humor.

Are there any music clips from the show on-line to hear?

Not gonna lie. That may be the greatest plot description for anything I've ever read.
