June 3rd. I'm going also. I'm gonna wear my shirt also...LOL. After I told her at SD that I was gonna go to see her there she kept looking at me as if she was studying my face to remember me.
Don't believe everything that you hear! Only the peeps involved know the truth!
^Very cute. I saw that too awhile ago. And I always see pictures of them hugging and hanging out backstage at Legally Blonde. They must be good friends. Both talented young ladies right there!
I'm surprised this wasn't bumped when SATC came out on Friday, but congrats to Annaleigh for her little cameo and her film debut. I found a pic of her in the movie (which I found her to be quite funny in her small role)
In Sex and The City when Annaleigh said "this is not, non-fat." I just lost it, it was amazing! Would love to see her on the big screen again soon, but this time with a bigger part.
She's going to be in an Anne Hathaway movie soon as a "counter girl". It's called "Rachel's Wedding," I believe. It used to be called "Dancing With Shiva."
yes i agree i would love to see her more on the big screen but it will even better if she does alot more theatre on broadway. it is something like rachels wedding and dequinna moore who is the orginal pilar is in the movie also. by the way my cousins who work as stagehands for wicked said she brought in food on her last day for everyone who works there..i thought that was so sweet. it would be nice to see her back in legally blonde as elle woods after the reality show one. she is def one of my favorite actresses on broadway.
I agree – it would be nice to see her in a bigger part on screen. I can picture Annaleigh doing well in romantic comedies and such. But the selfish part of me would like her to focus more on Broadway – to me, there’s nothing better than seeing your favorite performer live. And as much as I love how she is constantly making me laugh, I’d like to see her in something more serious (less of a Marilyn, more a Jackie).
But anyway… yeah, I need to see go see the SATC movie. I’ve never even watched the show really, I’d just see it to spot all these b’way performers.
legally popular i couldnt agree with you more. i never watched the show either satc but they reviewed each show each week. they do review what has happended when the show ends and then it reviewed what happended since then. so you will be caught up.
annaleigh seeing her live was much more better than seeing her onscreen but i had to keep myself calm when she came onscreen. she should do more theatre than the big screen but wouldnt mind to see her on csi or law and order episode. i feel annaleigh is more focused on theatre than hitting the screens. it will kill me to see annaleigh as vivienne.
by the way satc brought in 55 million dollars this weekend most by a romantic comedy that is rated r. it bumped indiana jones out of the number one spot.
She’s using one of her newer headshots and an updated bio. And it’s SO nice to see Lisa up there too as the principle Elphaba, even if just for a short time. I might have to write to that theater and get a playbill with this cast. I wish them the best of luck to night. And I wonder when they’re gonna change the pictures in the gallery. I hope Lisa gets an Elphaba promo.
Well… can’t wait to hear any reviews. I hope the Chicago fans love them!

Sadly, I doubt Lisa will, Kate Farhner did not get one when she replaced Erin before Annaleigh came, and she was there about the same amount of time Lisa will be, Lisa may be a few weeks more, but still.
Wheat Ridge native Annaleigh Ashford made her Broadway debut in Legally Blonde just a year ago.
In May she wrapped up six months as Glinda in Wicked, the top-selling Broadway show. She also performed her first solo concert at Birdland and had a small role in the movie Sex and the City. This month, she moved into the Chicago production of Wicked for a six-month run.
At her final performance on Broadway, co-star Stephanie J. Block, who plays Elphaba, interrupted the curtain call to pay tribute.
"Today we say goodbye to an amazing performer and a dear, dear friend," Block said, expressing amazement that someone so young (Ashford is 24) was so disciplined. "She is joy, the most beautiful light I ever met."
Starring in Wicked wasn't leaving Ashford much time for anything offstage, she said. "The show just knocks me out. It's just hard on your body."
She had fans before, but being in a show beloved by girls and young women in particular led to a particularly devoted fan base (and some passionate detractors). Some audience members wore shirts that said "Fannaleigh." There are now several fan-operated Web sites devoted to her.
"That's too much," she says. "I can't handle that. It's so odd to me that people care."
For the most part, she prefers to focus on her work. "I try to keep myself very, very artistically safe. I do not Google myself, ever."
That way, she's protected from the positive and the negative, and when you're stepping into a role that has become iconic, both will come at you.
"Being a replacement in a Broadway show is like putting on a pair of shoes that were crafted for somebody else's feet and making them fit. It takes time."
This popped up on Google alerts for me. I like her description of replacement status
