I mean, that part is frickin' made for her. She may not have Stephanie J. Block's voice, but she certainly can act better. Maybe if they make a movie version.

Anne Hathaway is a little too A-List right now to consider taking over roles in musicals with mixed reviews. Ask her again in a few years.
How is that part made for her?
Because it's relatively bland, except for an exceptionally power belted ballad that Hathaway MIGHT be able to handle.
Hathaway is much too talented. She needs a musical role that she can really sink her teeth into.
She should do ANYTHING where she can sing.

She has an OK voice, certainly not OK enough to belt "Get Out and Stay Out". But other than that, I think she'd make a fantastic Judy.
I just want to see Anne Hathaway in any musical on Broadway.
Isn't she about TWENTY years too YOUNG for this? (I admit, I am only referencing the movie.)
She's probably about ten years too young. I am also dying to see her in a Broadway musical. I think she'd be better off finding an original role rather than a revival. Established stars like Christina Applegate and Lauren Graham were treated very harshly (too harshly?) by critics in revivals. I think she would have been perfect for Millie or Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, so she should find another new vehicle like those.

Well, Stephanie Block claims to be around the age Hathaway claims to be, doesn't she? They're both kind of "young" for the role.
Hmmm..I don't think Stephanie Block has "claimed" to be in her 20s. They're quite a few years apart. Hathaway is in her mid 20s and I believe Block is in her mid-30s...
But yes, I think Hathaway is a bit too young to be playing a divorcee of a long-ish marriage.

I saw on wikipedia Block is listed as being 36. I could have sworn that a few years ago when she was touring in Wicked she was claiming to be 27 or 28.
