Off the radar for awhile? Could be Maryann Plunkett.
I have a feeling whoever is cast (not casted) is gonna disappoint most of us.

Radar ... MASH ...
Loretta Swit?!

Oh! La Swit!!!!!!!
Theatrical magic. Book her NOW!!!!!!!
Dolly, I think you're being "sarky", right? from RC in Austin, Texas
My professor is good friends with Charles Strouse who said himself that the Hannigan that was casted has been "off the radar" for a while...Interested to see who he means
They are going to HAVE to have a big name if they want people in those seats. Filling the Palace is not easy, and this show will NEED a name to sell it. Hopefully this "off the radar" person is somewhat well known... While I like some of the ideas suggested here, a lot of the names are not big enough.

Did he really use the "word" casted?
Is it not a Broadway ritual?
Did he really use the "word" casted?
He was probably "in tech" and not thinking clearly.
I really hope Jackie Hoffman is Hannigan!
There will be an announcement soon I do believe.

I feel like chiming in. Considerring the timing of the announcement (if it is in fact soon), I am guessing it's someone whose involvement was pending the announcement of the next TV season, which just completed last week. Some possible Hannigan's I can think of that had TV shows in the mix for next Fall that are now free (and some other ideas) are as follows:
Kristin Chenoweth (not my choice, but I could see it happening)
Roseanne (pending her Presidential candidacy, of course)
Allison Janney (this is my pick)
Oprah (yeah, I said it)
Teri Hatcher
Felicity Huffman
Marcia Cross
Sarah Silverman (could be interesting)
and last but not least, Bette Midler. She could use a vehicle to return to Broadway with, her career seems at the right place for a return and ANNIE would be a safe show for her to headline without much pressure of it failing. It's bound to run, whether it's loved or loathed.

^Roseanne could be fun, she claims to have been taking voice lessons for years. The National anthem issue, was that that she started too high, and decided to play it for laughs, though she can actually sing if she is to be believed.
Milder would get me in the theater as Hannigan.
Roseanne? Singing? You must not be a baseball fan.

Roseanne did do that Wizard of OZ tour for a while, so she obviously isn't opposed to the idea of theatre. And, I think you're right "random person", she is probably a better singer than she was in the anthem debacle.
I just saw this clip of Sarah Silverman with Seth Rudetsky that made me push her towards the top of my list as possibilities.
It's scary for me to think of Sarah Silverman being in contention for Miss Hannigan, as I worked with her when she was 16 years old and I still picture her as that person.
I'm not sure she'd commit to something like this, but I think Sandra Bernhard would be a very interesting Hannigan.

Some of the names mentioned are cute and fun.. but thank you bwayphreak234 for saying what I was going to say: The producers NEED a BIG, BIG name as Hannigan to get butts in the seats at the Palace for an extended period of time. It seems like ANNIE and GREASE have been revived more than any other show... and this revival will FAIL unless an A-LIST actor who is known OUTSIDE the theatre world steps into a helluva role created by the incomparable Dorothy Loudon.

Annie was revived once before this, and Grease has only been revived twice... hardly "revived more than any other show"
I think (like always) when the announcement is made people will call it "brilliant" while others say "let down".
Natalie Portman as Hannigan.
