This was posted in Broadway in Chicago's official blog:
We also have been working with the producers of THE ADDAMS FAMILY to finalize art for the show and plan a press conference for April - more details as they become available. The same producers, Elephant Eye, are also working with us to do a staged reading of SAVED The Divine Musical - based on the movie of the same name.

Does anyone have more information on this project? Is it the same one Playwrights Horizon did last year?

Chinkie:
It is a revised version of the one that played at Playwrights Horizons last year. If it goes through, it will open in Chicago this fall.

I really enjoyed a lot of it.....but that was due to the performances (save one or two). I'd love for this to come back.
Can't go too wrong with Tviet and Holbrook. (Yes, I know they are both "busy" now.)

Good Lord this show was terrible.
This show failed in almost every way an adaptation can...the writers should be ashamed of the piece of crap they created. Such a GREAT concept and source material for a show and the book was poorly structured, the lyrics were eye-roll-inducing, and the music was non-melodic and formless.
Watching this musical made me so angry and frustrated...
The blame really goes to Playwrights Horizons...where SOMEONE thought this piece had some kind of redeeming quality. I can't imagine that it 'read' well and somehow fell apart in production...guess they were just after something that would sell tickets.
the actors, however, were absolutely fantastic and did the best they possibly could with the poor material they were given.
the only thing I can remember about this show that was good was the dream sequence kind of thing in act II (where everything was "perfect" or something)...it was kind of over-the-top and tongue-in-cheek at the same time. Thats the tone they should gone after from the beginning...
ugh.
