I called B&N Chelsea today to get info about the signing. They seem to be giving some inconsistent amounts of info to different callers, so if you call them PLEASE post what they tell you.
- Get there between 6 and 6:30 - there will be no "wristbands" handed out. Anthony will be speaking first and then signing and he will try to sign as many books as possible.
- One signed item per person. You can have him sign either his book or CD (by that I think they mean 'Look Around.') So if you were getting books for friends, that kind of blows.
- You must show a receipt to prove that your book was purchased at Barnes & Noble. Yuck.
Thanks for posting. I was planning on swinging by and seeing him quickly... not going to wait around for the signing.
I bought my book at *A* Barnes and Noble. Hmmmm.
I think that as long as it's from A B&N that's fine... but I got my copy at Strand.
The lady told me that it doesn't *have* to be from Barnes and Noble and that I didn't need a reciept to prove that I bought the book. She said she didn't think I'd have a problem. She told me he'd be speaking first as well..does that mean he's not singing? I thought he was..
Okay. I got THE friendliest guy ever.
He says that no, you don't have to buy the book there. He was like "noooo, of course not!" He says you should try to bring a reciept if you have one, just so they know you didn't like... smuggle their books off of the shelves and whatnot. But he said if you bought the book a while ago, that's fine and everything.
As for limitations, he said that it's typically up to the person doing the signing. Some people only want to sign one thing, and some will sign anything you put in front of them. He said the only times the B&N staff get involved in putting limitations on how many items you can get signed is if there are a ton of people, and they need to move things along, because to be fair they want everybody to get something. So he said unless there are like 2 bajillion people there, he didn't think it would be very strict.
He said that if there are any problems or questions, just talk to the security guards and explain to them what you want to do and they should be fine with it.
Yay for friendly man.
Yay for no wristbands! I might actually be able to go now
Yayy :) I wish I could go to the concert afterwards.
Why can't you? I just found out today that I could attend the signing because a class that was rescheduled for that time (Tues 7-9) was changed back to its original time. I have a meeting at 10pm so I'm going to try and make it to the concert after. All-day fun pass!
My friend's mom is taking us and won't stay in the city later then 10.
this may sound really stupid, but what concert??

I really wish I could go!
Everyone has to post pictures and give lots of details, okay?
he's performing at the Cutting Room in Chelsea, 11pm, all ages, $10 cover
It seriously is like an all-day fun thing. hah.
I have a HUGE paper due next week, and tomorrow serves as my day of liberation before the work begins. Partyyy.
Par-tay!
Hey should we try to meet up in a little group before hand?? or after? I love meeting new bww'ers!! Also, I was hoping I could tag along with some of you to the Cutting Room since I am not framiliar with that area at all! This should be FUN =D
I'm not sure how to organize. I mean, I can be like "if you see me, say hi..." but I don't want to like, whip out a sign!
I have no idea where The Cutting Room is.
I usually just figure I can follow everyone else!

Everyone is making me so jealous -- not only because I'd like to meet Anthony, but I'd love to meet up with all of you as well.
Em, the Cutting Room is apparently at 19 West 24th Street. I'm sure you could have Googled it just as easily as me, but there ya go.
Grazi.
Please. No signs like the car drivers at the airports have.
Ok. I bring a map.
Barnes and Noble is where the F/V subway is. The little arched logo that says "Cutting Room" is where The Cutting Room is.
Maybe I'll.... no, wait. Nevermind.
Em - I was referring to the "not-so-fun Fun Pass" (grrr $7, I loved when it was $4). But yes, tomorrow will be fun indeed.
"Party at the Life Cafe after Maureen's... erm... Anthony's Show."

Too bad it's not really close by.
What was that other place? Oh yeah, BLOSSOM GOURMET VEGAN. WOOOOO.
Or we can get some nice sorbet
from Ronnybrook at the Chelsea Market (aka my favorite place in NY).
*snort*
Actually, I kind of like sorbet.
Let's do it.
