For the sake of the LGBT center I hope it's not filled with fangirls. Based on their other programs and this "Second Tuesday" tour they are not the target audience, and it would be SO inappropriate if they all came there at 11am and were belting out the Rent soundtrack like they did at B&N (not that it was okay there). It would be almost as bad as these kiddies started going to Friends in Deed because they were grieving over the loss of Jonathan Larson.

Oh, gosh, I'm so late to post this, ha, but luvtheemcee, I can see my head in some of your pics!
And I love how a bunch of us all met and didn't know it. I don't know about you guys, but I felt the broadwayworld vibe.
And I couldn't find this thread before, so I created a new one with the videos I took of Anthony's book signing and gig.

You know I am new to the messageboard but I have been reading through for some weeks and I have to say I was at the book signing in NYC with my friends and we got there pretty early and my friends were some of the people singing the RENT songs. Would everyone on here stop complaining about it. It wasn't like anyone in the store told them to shut up. No one said anything and they were singing becaue B&N was playing the RENT soundtrack.
no there was definitely singing well before the rent soundtrack came on. and think of it this way... when you hear someone singing in public you usually think "what a crazy hobo". barnes & noble = public space, there was just more of you. but you guys gave us all a headache.
People were fighting about this on IMDB, and y'all were asked PLENTY of times, including by people of authority to quit singing.
That said, why shouldn't we be complaining? It was absolutely ridiculous. All of the people in that room shouldn't have been subjected to your wailing for three hours.
B&N was playing the Rent soundtrack? Really? I didn't hear it. I guess it's because you all were SHOUTING over it.
I'm with dreaminaret, there was DEFINITELY singing before the soundtrack came on. Anyway, what exactly was the point of asking us to stop complaining about it when this thread hasn't been bumped for over 2 weeks? We complained and it's already done with. You don't get to ask us to stop complaining, especially after the pain you put on my ears.

Because I keep coming across different posts of everyone talking about it and I agree stop talking about it. And yes it was one of the girls I was with to try to start a sing along cause we were there since 2:30 and the girl in front of us heard and started singing while others around us in the front started as well before the soundtrack came on cause they were trying to get them to play it for a few hours. now I am closing the topic of the singing.
and I agree stop talking about it.
We're not agreeing with your attempt at the denial of the right to complain about something COMPLETELY ABSURD.
I don't care how long you were there; it's not an excuse to drive everyone around you to needing overdoses of Advil.
Really, at this point you don't need to start making all these excuses for yourself. I don't care why you did it. We were there, we heard the singing, and it was quite annoying.

I didn't do any singing I sat there laughing cause I think they are all crazy. I am not making excuses for myself.
In another thread, you posted:
and we were also some of those annoying singing people at B&N in the city that everyone keeps complaining about.
WE = inclusive term.
Here, you posted:

Get your stories straight. What, did you think people would forget what you posted elsewhere?
This is ridiculous.

because my friends were singing and I am going with the same 4 people I went with to the signing.
Ummm...that doesn't make ANY sense. I'm sure you're going to be a big hit around here
...... wow. I have no idea what you're saying.
I think I should be done bothering with you. You make no sense.

But in your last post...
"they were singing becaue B&N was playing the RENT soundtrack."
And then:
"I am not making excuses for myself."
Um, I know that you're new, but this is a message board of intelligent people. When you contradict yourself 2 separate times in 3 posts (not to mention the one Emcee already pointed out), we WILL call you on it. Pull your head out of your ass and get your lies straight before trying to converse with us, dear, because you're in way over your head.
All I can say is I saw the video... oy vey.
