Looking at the list of shows next season, I can't believe there's only one musical revival announced so far. So unexciting to me. Does anybody know of any potentially forthcoming announcements for musical revivals?

I don’t have any insider information but I wouldn’t be surprise if the Crazy For You revival opens next season.
I think this is a 100% rumor but heard on the other chat boards that a revival of spelling bee is aming to come in.

That’s the one Broadway Concierge was referring to on his post...
What happens if there is only one revival Tony-wise? Do they automatically win?!

Dreamgirls and the London revival of 42nd Street have both been eyeing a Broadway transfer, as has the acclaimed Japanese production of Titanic...

Per the official Tony rules, the musical would be considered alongside the play revivals unless there are at least three musical revivals:
"Each year the Tony Awards Administration Committee shall determine whether there shall exist in quality and quantity a sufficient number of Revivals to merit the granting of an Award for Best Revival of a Play or Musical and, if so, the Tony Awards Administration Committee shall also determine whether there shall be a separate Play and Musical Revival category; provided, however, that if there are at least three such plays and three such musicals, there shall automatically be separate Play and Musical Revival categories."

i hear that secret garden will be postponed despite an upcoming lab presentation
I wonder if Rudin will keep up his new tradition of reviving a classic musical in the spring. If so, I hope he does a George C Wolfe directed Funny Girl starring Jessie Mueller. That show is looong overdue for a revival.
I'm not so excited about The Secret Garden with Carlyle directing. I just don't think he's a good choice. I could see Arden doing some great work with it.

Just out of curiosity, what made you think of Wolfe for Funny Girl? I think it’s an intriguing idea, but I never would have thought of him for it.
