Posted: 7/5/11 at 12:24amI saw it, about 5 (maybe 6?) years ago at the fringe at the lucille lortel and it was one of the FUNNIEST things I have seen in years. I would speak about it years later, wondering what happened to it. if it's anything like it was, run. I will wait and see. Hope to see it soon!

I saw this over the weekend - it's hysterical. Go see it!! You can get $25 "sitting on the stairs" tickets at the box office. It's a weird blend of broad comedy, and some surprisingly sophisticated performances.
At first I thought it would just be like a really long SNL skit, but Jenn Harris has nailed so many details of Foster's performance, and Brent Barrett is fantastic as Lecter! He used to play Phantom, now he's singing songs like, "If I Could Smell Her C*nt" with complete sincerity and authority. And while he sings, two sequined ballet dancers are doing a Clarice/Lecter pas de deux.
Also, the guy who plays Buffalo Bill genuinely tucks, and as I was first row and it's a tiny theater, his tucked business was literally right above my head. THAT takes balls! Literal and figurative balls. The actors looked like they were having a blast, and the audience certainly did!

Saw the show tonight.
Let me start by saying this..... the show is obvious. You can see all the jokes coming from a mile away, Its also not going to be the smartest night at the theater. However its excellent. Not at all a bad way to spend a bad night at the theater. While the material lacks the cast absolutely takes it and destroys the stage. It was probably the funniest thing I have seen in awhile and you will absolutely leave the theater humming a song or two.
