I'm always humming a Broadway tune in school or listening to Broadway music when doing my homework.

It's rather sad, really.

I pretty much spend my entire day going through all of Sweeney, book and score, in my head.

I sang songs from Chitty at work. Out loud. And danced around.

I should probably mention that I work in a daycare center because otherwise, it sounds worse than it really is. re: Anyone else ever get distracted in class/work by their Broadway obsessi

I think I might win.
The other day in a film class, my prof mentioned someone winning an Oscar in 1984... This spun my brain on a tangent where I made myself remember the winners and nominees of every category for the 1984 Tony awards, and then some of the shows that didn't get nominated... Then I started picturing in my head what the streets looked like at that time with those marquees on the specific theaters...
I need to study something else for awhile. Oh man.

I teach in a middle school - and after Avenue Q first came out I could not get the song "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist" out of my head for DAYS - I still remember starting to hum it in the halls and having to cut myself off because it's not really all that appropriate for a middle school teacher!

Oh wow, yesterday I was in Earth Science taking notes and we were talking about the seasons and the position of the sun and equinoxes and stuff, and I automatically started thinking Seasons of Love, so then I was thinking Another Day, and the lyrics just kept coming and instead of taking notes, it was half of Another Day mixed in on the margins of my paper. Ugh, I'm horrible.

And another time during English my teacher was explaining the critical lens essay and it was just after I got The Color Purple recording, so the lyrics to Our Prayer and Brown Betty were running through my head and I wasn't paying attention, and now I'm really bad at writing a critical lens essay. It's true. And I have to write one by friday for my English portfolio. Eeek!

The course of true love never did run smooth.

I'm constantly replaying showtunes in my head during work and school. I ususally have no clue what the teacher is saying in lecture. The best was when I was in a lecture and I had a lap top and I went to a Broadway website that played showtunes when you logged on but I forgot that the volume on my computer was still on.

All the time. Especially during French class, which happens to be (a) extremely boring and (b) during the last period of the day. I'm usually dozing off, not paying attention, and some song gets stuck in my head. It also happens now in English class, since we just started reading Romeo and Juliet...so one can imagine the West Side Story songs I get stuck in my head.

LMAO>..life is always distracted by my obsession...

like my Shakespeare prof likes to say "The party's over" and that gets that in my head....

and when we were doing Romeo and Juliet and I felt the need to sing

"We are just like Romeo and Juliet, we're happy young and bubbling with love!"

and the list goes on and on....Sweeney gets in my head too much....love it

and all that I could do because of you was talk of love...

All of the time!
At work we play mix CDS and You're the One that I Want and Grease (not exactly a show tume) are there.
That makes me randomly sing.

I had a teacher who had a watch alarm that sounded daily. Each day when I heard the little doot doot doot doot doot doot doot doot doot doot doot doot I blurted out AZT break.

I'm in a show in school (Guys and Dolls) so I'm always distracted in class when I fall asleep from the exhausting rehearsals.

I'll be on the phone with a customer, playing a cast album or collection of songs from different shows, and realize I'm singing a song to my customer. Thank heavens they put up with my obsession!

Well 90% of the time I am posting on here I am at work...so I guess you could say I am "distracted" by my addiction.
