Anyone ever sell tickets on here and then get sold out at the theatre?

Jordan, that is great to hear that theaters will actually do that. Would never have happened when I lived in NYC (70s and 80s).

Of course $30 is small by comparison. That goes without saying. It's just disappointing...that's all.

Jordan is correct, though--if you want to see this show still, you should try to past-date the tickets once your wife is well enough to attend. Many theatre companies are happy to do that.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

It is indeed disappointing, HB (and I know you mean the behavior, not just the money).

I'm not so naive as to believe that karma is automatic and literal and instantaneous. But I do think that people who tend to treat others well are more apt to encounter good treatment themselves. And people who tend to treat others badly--well, you get the idea.

This creep cheated you in the short run, but I doubt it brought him any happiness in the long run.

No one has taken into consideration the fact that the so-called
"culprit" may have had a legitimate reason for not being able to get to the theater. Did you exchange cell numbers?

Yes, we've all taken that into consideration. As someone has already pointed out, he had the OP's email address.

Unless he's dead or in jail, he should have emailed--at the very, very least--afterward to explain the situation.

The reason I mentioned that is because I was in a similar situation: I was buying a NORMAL HEART ticket from a BWW "regular"
but he neglected to give me his cell number. He had mine, though. I got stuck in a SNAFU on the LIRR and was running late w/o any way of contacting him. Luckily, he was able to send me a text and we worked things out.

I'm sorry to learn this had such a miserable outcome.

I was offering up a pair of tickets to a show I was working on and a friend said he would take them. I left them under his name at the box office and then never heard a word from him for two days. I emailed and asked if he enjoyed the show and thats when he told me he couldnt find any one to go with him so Why bother wasting the ticket?
That was his real response. I told him he could have called me and told me he wasnt coming and I could have had other people come. When the fight moved to Facebook, and I posted what he had done, he got read to filth by my friends.

He then when on to post that his mother died, and thats why he couldnt make it. It was like he couldnt find a big enough lie to cover his fat ass.

Anyhoo, needless to say I dont bother with him anymore. People can be really self-centered and stupid.

I hate when people falsely use the death of a family member as an excuse. That's pretty low. And desperate.

I have emailed him since, and he stopped emailing me back after he said we would meet at the theatre. His name on here is Winston89. I would not recommend anyone ever selling tickets to him or buying tickets from him.

I would like to throw in anybody who didn't show up to meet me as per our internet plans into the "burn these morally reprehensible jagbags" fire also.
