for Broadway run too. See NYTimes.com.
I'm extremely happy for Charlotte. This is a long time coming for her and she's going to be incredible!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
this is SUCH better casting!
I am very happy for her, but please read carefully. "He confirmed that Ms. d'Amboise will open the show until Ms. Applegate is well enough to return."
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was so looking forward to seeing Christina!!!!
I never liked Charlotte, and her name is not strong enough to sell a show (That's why she's always a replacement)
Well, that's one less B'way show I'll be spending money on.

While I'm very happy for Charolotte and I hope the show does very very well with her in it, I can't imagine how horrible Christina must feel that she can't open the show, especially since she worked so hard and wanted to prove herself so badly.
But congratulations, Charlotte!

Well, at least Christina will get to come back once she's well enough, according to Barry Weissler. It will just OPEN with Charlotte until poor Christina is better.
So Christina is NOT permanently replaced!!!

If D'Amboise get raves, I doubt we'll ever see Applegate take over the role.
Okay...reread... A broken foot shouldn't take two months to heal...
Congrats to D'Amboise, but I feel so bad for Christina. She did prove that she was a Broadway calibur actress, and it's a shame she can't open her own show!
I wonder if this will garner charlotte another nomination. I hope so.....it is so deserved!

Charlotte is absolutely AMAZING, and I'm really happy to hear this news. Not on Appelgate's expense, but because I think D'Amboise is more than perfect for this role.
I'm happy for Charlotte. She deserves the recognition. I feel for Christina, because she wanted to prove herself so badly and all, but yay for Charlotte! P.S. A broken foot can take up to three months to heal. And Christina has major dancing to do in this show, so they don;t want her doing it right after the injury. So it's going to be a few months, if any, when Christina returns.
I have tix for April 30th.
Do you think Christina is going to be there until then?

You'll be seeing D'Amboise.
I'm so glad I didn't get the tix. Charlotte won't get a nomination, because, technically, she is a replacement.
Yes. She's probably going to be just out of the cast by that point Tiny-Toon.

I feel so awful for Christina. She has worked so hard and really has put a lot into the role. She really believes in the show. I hope she will be able to come to Broadway when she recovers. She really wants to be there...unlike some celebs.
Like Joan Jett?
Am I correct in assuming that D'Amboise will be credited as a standby? If so, that throws a wrench into all Tony Predictions because there is no way Christina gets a nod for not performing at all before the nominations are announced.
Kate Reinders has a SHOT!!!! I'm doing a happy dance :)
I feel SO bad for Christina. I really thought she'll be great
because she loved the show so much. Actually, the main reason
I bought tix was to see Christina. Anybody thinking of getting refunds?
Yeah, bwaytheatre, i agree. While I am super happy for charlotte b/c ive loved her for awhile, i do feel really bad for christina. She truly did want to be there, and really worked genuinely hard to make sure she was. So while I'm wishing charlotte luck, im praying for christina's speedy recovery.
