That is so creepy. *Hides under her blanket* Are there any ghost stories at the Winter Garden besides this?

If I had the ability to come from the dead, so to speak, I would NOT be sitting in the mezzanine... The guy in the left hand corner has the right idea...
Anyway... that was wicked creepy!!!!!!!

clearly there is a figure in the first row. that's startling. I don't believe that it is a ghost though. and by your own definition there are other orb like objects in the photo that you did not circle. three in the orchestra seats and one at the top right corner that is probably the reflective surface from one of the light frames or gels.

That's really awesome. I *love* theater ghost stories.

there was a whole thing on a theater ghost in this years tony playbill. I have to find the story on line somewhere. i think there are also tours in NYC that are strictly devoted to this.

You're right about the tours, I know they exist.
The Palace is the "most haunted" as far as I know. Supposedly Judy Garland's ghost is there, so I've heard.

I've seen a lot of this stuff in my time, and I used to read a lot of these kind of things in high school etc. But wow. That totally sent shivers down my spine
I know it'll play on me tonight.. even though I'm not that really attuned to it right now: but still: creepy
Has anyone managed to get any photos of the Belasco ghost?

It certainly looks like there's something there! What is even scarier though, is that, these poor ghosts were condemned to see CATS every night for more than 20 years !!! Now, that's a cruel punishment !!!!

What other Broadway theaters have ghosts in them? I know about the Place, the Belasco and the New Amsterdam but are there any more? I was also wondering what are the ghost stories behind the Winter Garden.

I wonder how these guys' tours are -- www.streetsmartsny.com
GHOSTS ON BROADWAY TOUR
The theater district is home to many ghosts (and not all of them are in theaters). Visit a haunted hotel, the ghostly New Amsterdam Theater, and the “most haunted place in New York.”
Check out the calendar, though. No Ghosts on Bway tour anytime soon.

I don't know if I'm starting to see things or not but I spotted another figure in there that you didn't circle. House left (on the right side of the picture) it looks like someone in a white shirt and tie is walking into the back of the theatre

The Imperial is supposively haunted. Some of the Les Miz children especailly would hear them.

Actually what a better place to haunt than a Broadway theater? See a show every night. Makes sense to me!

I'm not surpised the Les Miz kids were more prone to seeing the Imperial ghosts, younger chiildren are far more attune with that sort of thing.
Thanks for sharing...that was so creepy!

While this is not a theater in New York the theater at a local is said to have a ghost in the basement. When my mom and her firends were working there one time no one would go to the basement alone. Even her friend who isn't afaid of anything wouldn't go down there alone.

These are fantastic!
I'm new to the board, but had to respond to these great pics. What kind of camera did you use? Digital or film? I've long been a believer in theatre ghosts and have had some experiences of my own, but sadly no photographic proof as of yet. I do have other photographs with orbs and mists on them, but none in a theatre.
I take it you must have been involved in a company at the WINTER GARDEN to get the 'stage to audience' persepective.
I'm wondering, did you experience any other phenomenon in the theatre in addition to these images? Smells, moving objects, whispers? I'd be happy to comapre notes especially at this time of year.
Thanks for sharing!
And thanks for...welcoming me to the board.
