Some very good feedback. I agree with most of you... I do not and should not feel bad for Ashlee Simpson. She has zero talent, and if she were, for example, playing Elphaba, this board would be merciless on her. The blood would flow in a river down the main street of BWW.com. Son of a Gunn is right... Americans are getting tired of prefab packaged model-types having singing careers. Perhaps America has finally woken up and realize that it misses real vocalists like Karen Carpenter and Donny Hathaway. Now I cannot and will nor knock Madonna, but who loves her for her music anyway? We love HER, not "I'm drinkin' a soy latte/I get a double shot-tay..."
And Jessica's scary face contorsions and animal-like screeching noises have gotten on my nerves too.
OMG, Imagine Ashlee as Elphaba, Jessica as Galinda and Nick as Fiyero? With the way that Broadway has tended to make fatal mistakes when it comes to stunt casting (Hasselhoff in Jekyll, Lachey in Rent, Diddy in Raisin?!?!?!??) I wouldn't be suprised if we're soon to see:
Wicked Newlyweds: The Musical.
