Hi! I'm looking for some pieces to do that are of awkward young male characters. Do you know any monologues or characters from plays I could check out?
I don't know if 33 3/4 counts as "young," but my first thought was Cornelius Hackl from Hello, Dolly! or The Matchmaker.

How about Mark's or Paul's monologues in "A Chorus Line"?
Charlie Brown's "lunchtime" monologue from YAGMCB.
Hope that helps. =)
Something from Ah Wilderness, or from the musical based on it, Take Me Along.
Something of Leaf Coneybear's from Spelling Bee?

I think a lot of it has to do with your characterization. The monologue I use is actually a female characters, but I cut a few things here and there and it works out well.
Aw, TonyVincent your post just made me really miss Spelling Bee. =(

Check out the play "Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Momma's Hung You in the Closet and I'm Feelin' So Sad." They made it into a movie, there's a great role for a stuttering kid.
Also try Donny in Lt. of Inishmore.

But, Ronnie's monologue in House of Blue Leaves is easier and funnier.
