BARE Re-Opening

Sorry WhatDoINeed...I had to say it...didn't want us all gettin' our hopes up...
There are some people in the world who say that writing stories, or composing music or dancing sparkly dances is easy for them. Nothing interferes with their ability to create. While I celebrate their creative freedom, a little part of me just wants to punch those motherf*ckers in the teeth...[tos]

BARE Re-Opening

Well I think it would be a bit stupid for Michael and everyone else doing the Pub concert to not do the show int he fall...why do all this advertising for a show you're not going to be in?

very good point starlyricist, but he's in high demand.
maybe he'll stick with his heart for a meaningful, amazing, off-broadway show than go for a broadway show that's offering more money (if that is indeed the case)

OR...even better...they can transfer to a small Bway house before the end of the season?! I like that one..

BARE Re-Opening

I am so excited about tomorrow! I'm sure it's going to be great. I can only hope that they really did take our suggestions seriously and that Michael will sing either "Origins of Love" Or "Hallelujah." My fangirl heart might burst if he does!

Sammygal, are you going too? :)

And I can't wait to hear some of the original songs. They mentioned at the Scott Nevins thing that original songs by the cast members would be sung as well. We know Michael's is one of them. Dare I hope that my John Hill is another? He does have an original song on his website.

*crosses fingers*

BARE Re-Opening

Personally, those two songs are on the top of my list...i REALLY hope they sing them!

BARE Re-Opening

i requested "Hallelujah" too, i think alot of people did...not only here but also on the barees website...hopefully they do listen! someones gotta type a set list right after the show tomorrow!
#365

BARE Re-Opening

I was so glad when everyone requested "Hallelujah". Michael's beautiful voice would be perfect for it. Michael also mentioned that there would be some gospel music. It should be very interesting indeed! :)

I'll try and remember the setlist. :)

Hey is anyone staying to see Michael Cerveris' band, aptly titled "Cerveris" perform tomorrow night after 'bare' at Joe's Pub? Alex Gemignani and Kendra Kassebaum are also going to be there...

My, this thread has grown in the last 30 minutes!

Someone needs to get as much news as possible regarding Michael's "Easter Rising," which no doubt will have some of its songs featured at tomorrow's concert.

And I requested "Hallelujah" too! Out of all the songs in the world, what are the chances of that? Maybe us Barees all have the same taste in music. BARE Re-Opening

BARE Re-Opening

I just got home from the Bare concert and it was FABULOUS! I also met Starlyricist who might be the cutest cute to ever cute in cuteville! :)

There was also an after party at the Fez that Trisky and I went to for a bit. Didn't talk to any of the cast but only because I'm such a loser that I was too shy to talk to John Hill. I.AM.A.LOSER! Highlight of the night was meeting Linda Lenzi though. She is as nice as she is talented! BARE Re-Opening

Anyhoo, here are some of the songs that I remember. Everyone sounded and looked amazing.

John and Natalie: "Origin of Love" (I know we all wanted Michael to sing this but John and Natalie kicked ass on this one)
Adam and John: "Basket Case" by Greenday (awesome)
John and Michael: "The N & R Song" (This was incredible! Michael is so uber talented)
Natalie: "Walk Away" by Christina Aguilera
Jenna: "The Waiting Song" (?) (Not sure if that was the title but it was another great song written by Michael)
Scott: "Slutty Chorus Boy" (This was the highlight of the night. Let's put it this way. The song ended with "top or bottom - how do you think I got my Equity card? HYSTERICAL)
Michael: "You and I" by Jason Mraz (He could sing the telephone book and I would entertained)
Natalie and Adam: "Volcanoes" by Damian Rice (I had never really heard Adam sing before tonight and he totally impressed me. What a voice)
The entire cast: "Here's where I stand" from the Camp Soundtrack ( I think this was the song).
Katilin and Jim sang two original songs that were fantastic.

I know I'm forgetting a million songs but those are the ones that are popping up right now.

Had an amazing night and am so impressed with the talent of the Bare cast. Can't wait for the second show! BARE Re-Opening

Michael sang it really well though I don't know if he knew all the words. LOL! He was great. He also sang a beautiful song dedicated to his friend from Juliard that was murdered recently. I don't know the name of it but it gave me chills.

And I didn't know that you were Mattjm248. I'm "MadeofGold" on the Barees site. :)

BARE Re-Opening

haha yes, i'm fairly quiet on that site, and the screen name incorporates my name, stupidity on my part! lol

that's funny that he didn't know the words, and yeah the Juilliard student has been in the news, she was murdered running in a park near her apartment, very tragic. i'm sure the song was amazing, i've heard his composing skills are amazing.
