well AG, i'll bring the kleenex when we go. AFTER the show when we meet the cast, i'll make sure we have an ambulance on standby.
There are some people in the world who say that writing stories, or composing music or dancing sparkly dances is easy for them. Nothing interferes with their ability to create. While I celebrate their creative freedom, a little part of me just wants to punch those motherf*ckers in the teeth...[tos]

Hello everyone. I must say I have been a fan of the recent posts. I havent posted since I really havent had time but I have been doing my best to stay updated with the bare fans including the ardenites since I am a member at heart, willingly admitting I am a huge fan of the cast including mr arden. I pretty much became obsessed with the show ever since I heard the cd sampler and since then Ive gained quite a large BARE collection of memorabilia. Just wanted to say that I am a big fan of the show and think you all are great people from the posts Ive read. prolly be posting more on this thread in the future. um random. thanks. I think im done. hahaha.

Awww, thanks! Glad to have you aboard, Bobby Strong! ("Oooooh, it's....Bobby Strong!).
You should check out some of the earlier posts too (like, all 40 pages of them). I have to say, we've maintained a very entertaining thread.

Guess which musical made "The Elle 25" list? That's right--Bare! It is on page 354 of the September issue (with Jessica Simpson on the cover) There is a pic of Lindsay, Isaac, Kierran, Mike (although it doesn't look like him) and Natalie on the rafter in front of the cross. It says, and I quote: "Take some old-school Dawson's Creek (the early days, when it was good), add a heaping serving of the O.C.'s melodrama, and then cue singing, dancing, religion, self-discovery, self-loathing and the issue du jour, gay romance. Et viola- Bare: A Pop Opera, this season's hipper-than-thou, if not entirely innovative, off-Broadway pop-sical. Cowritten by Jon Hartmere Jr., 29 (lyrics) and Damon Intrabartolo, 29 (score), and directed by Kristin Hangg, 27, the show, which chronicles the issue-laden lives of teens in a Catholic boarding school, opened in L.A. in 2000, moved to off off-Broadway in 2004, and lands at the NYC's new Dodger Stages this month. In Bare, the after-school lives on, with a less preachy, more risque and decidedly cooler presentation. But the show's not just for kids. Despite its reliance on Rent-esque guitar riffs and raw, bumpy plotting, the story is as emotionally evocative as traditional operas favored by a smart, worldly crowd (think LaBoheme). With catchy music, word-of-mouth frenzy, and hundreds of devotees showing up to a CD signing for the show that features practically unknown actors, Bare has all the trappings of a tidal-wave hit." I love reading the posts and hopefully we can have a great big get together when Bare opens...

On the one hand... YAY! for some great exposure and a nice tidy, little review in a national magazine.
On the other... Oy! for the Dawson's Creek/O.C. comparisons. I realize most reviewers rely on entertainment touchstones to give their readers a sense of what a show is supposedly like to get them interested and I should be happy if it just gets them in seats, period. But, but, but... DC/OC/Rent. I'm not sure if that would be a turn on or a turn off combination.

Bumping this up again - I can't believe we've neglected the thread to the second page! Gasp!
I'm listening to the SiriusOutQ radio interview again, and Michael definitely mentions that there will be a "sex scene" of some sort between Peter and Jason. I wonder what that will entail...

Glad I caught the re-run of the Siriusoutq interview. As funny as reading the posts was, it was even funnier to hear the actual stories.
I agree BlueWizard, Michael seemed fairly serious (well as serious as one can get when joking around) about the love scene business.
BTW, it's quite amazing how alike he and Damon sound!

Welcome Bobby Strong...oooh...Bobby Strong.
And I'm so glad (thanks to our little Angel of Music - my dad would be so proud that I'm making a POTO reference there) to have caught the Michael interview in it's entirety. I love how shy he is, even when he's talking about "cocksucking". So cute!
I agree with all of you. I don't need a gratuitous sex scene between Peter and Jason (though if they want to include one I will be in the first row with binoculars
) but I really hope that we get to see some more intimacy between the two boys. As Trisky mentioned, it's amazing how much time the boys spend apart during the show. We need more!

Oh wait,

THIS is the
1000th POST!

We've come far, my Bare family!
I'm listening to BARE right now. I had forgotten how moving it is. Some of the music is truly heartrendering and haunting (I'm thinking "Best Kept Secret", "Bare" and "Pilgrim's Hands"), and performed so beautifully. There's a melancholic tone to these songs, a sense of yearning that really pulls at the heartstrings. I can't wait for the full cast recording!

BlueWizard, please don't bring that up. How am I going to get any work done with that thought floating in my head?! O_O
And yay to going over 1,000 posts! I can only imagine how out of control it's going to be when the show actually starts up again.

I think that's the first time anyone has ever called me an angel (of anything). I've been called the devil, but angel is new. LOL
I agree BlueWizard, I'm amazed that I can still bawl my eyes out so easily over this music and I'm not even a crier.
