I think Romelda has a good voice, I just have a thing about singers with bad diction. It takes me out of a moment in a show when I can't understand what they're saying and am too busy trying to figure it out. The only part of God Don't Make No Trash that I actually understood in person was that line and "ain't a rainbow without the pink". For the longest time I also thought she was saying "If you're wondering why I understand, it's 'cause there's a black woman inside the soul of every gay man", only to figure out just recently that it's actually "if you're wondering why I'm a fan".
It's just things like that, that I like to be able to understand.
ETA: Yay for Oct. 2nd! I'll be surrounded by beautiful men, none of whom have any interest in me. Um... yay? :P Seriously, it's going to be a good time.

i am more than willing to bet that a couple of the bare family reads this site...
I LOVED Romelda as Chantelle. Lord knows I could have used one of her in high school. she is SUCH anice woman offstage as well. I can't wait to see her in something else.
YAY! Can't wait to see you Newcomer! :)

I'm sorry. And being surrounded by hot men that have no interest in me is different from my everyday life how?

MOG & Trisky you guys are so funny. My boss actually just asked me what I was laughing at because I laughed so hard. I told him my paycheck
When I'm laughing at work, it's a dead giveaway that I'm not actually doing any, since I never do otherwise!
Like now for instance, instead of actually trying to finish my piled up work, so I can see the bottom of my desk once again, I'm reading this thread and humming Best Kept Secret in my head.
Now if only I could get the CD drive to work on this computer, I'd make Bare fans out of everyone in my age group here from the constant non-stop play.
Oh, almost forgot, BlueWizard I started reading that book you recommended on the commute in (while listening to Bare in my ear, men love everywhere it seems), 44 pages in and I'd like to pull it out and sit and read all day. Damn this working business.
Yay Trisky! I was afraid you might put it down, because it doesn't really pick up until after the first 60 pages or so. It gets much, much, uber-much better!
I'm at work right now, too. Is it wrong to be getting paid while reading BWW? Ah well, I'm getting paid for what I love to do.
The first few pages I was a little wary/confused, but I stick with books until the very last word. As soon as they introduced the boys I was smiling.
Of course it helps that I was picturing Michael/John as the characters, though they probably look nothing like either is intended to. Hee!
I think Michael Arden would be amazing to imagine as Jim. Don't know about John Hill as Doyler, though - Doyler is supposed to be poverty-skinny with dark eyes. (Both boys are supposed to be 15-16, though.)
There was/is talk that the book might be made into a film, and that Jamie Bell (from Billy Elliot) would play Jim. Now that's perfect casting!

Hey at least we're not lusting after Adam! We leave him to you.
And speaking of lusting, I wonder how John is doing in L.A? Why can't I live on the West Coast? Why can't he find something to do in New York? Why, why, why?
Yes I am pouting and yes I am 12.

Although I might cop a feel once in awhile. That butt, you know.

**smacks Bluewizard** It is NOT nice to 'cop a feel' on Adam. Please... let's have some respect for the Adamness.
Lots of respect.

"Good, they're gone. Michael, you can come out now."
Can't I leave you boys alone for a few hours without talk of Adam, Michael and dropping to ones knees for umm... "worship"?
Boys, boys, boys...

I would appreciate it if you didn't refer to Michael as my "toy".
Unless, of course, you're referring to me, in which case I'll gladly be called Michael's toy.
But back to BARE: the staging at the ATA seemed to really take advantage of the space there: catwalks, walkways on the upper level, spiral staircases (don't know if these are permanent; I know Urinetown had them at the ATA), etc. Since Dodgers is a completely different space (bigger, too, I believe), doesn't it mean much of the original blocking will also change?

I leave you alone for two seconds and you are back to the crazy obsessed cult thing!
No, look! I updated my message. It's about theata now! (AND the hotness of Michael.)
I can't help but think of how funny it must be for Michael (if he looks at this thread) to see so many people worshipping him and offering their services to him. LOL! I need a job where people are throwing themselves at my feet!
As for the staging BlueWizard, I hope that it remains basically intact except made larger. I love how it all worked it's way into the story at the ATA.
Also, I heard that the stage itself at Dodger Stages isn't significantly larger than the one at the ATA.

urinetown didn't change drasticly... though BARE itself will be a different show.. so I image the staging will be too
