You don't know how many times I purposely bumped into semi-blonde/brown/short haired guys hoping Michael would just show up! It was fairly sad...but John Tartaglia?! Sweetest thing ever. Extremely cute too. I've missed my Michael Arden fixes, it's like a drug :-P
Easter Rising sounds amazing, definitely has to be workshopped. Maybe it'll be brought to Broadway after I turn 18 and I can audition or something!!! That'd be amazing

mmmmm....the casting couch with Michael....

Now, now, BlueWizard, you KNOW I meant it would be a great experience to work on an amazing musical. Which also happens to be written by the genius that is Michael Arden! I never said how I'd get my way in

...yet all the comments that could be made, or rather innuendoes that could be created

I love how "blown away" the woman producer is in the article by Michael's performance. She calls him "something wonderful."

Nice... I wonder if it's a bit of pressure sometimes having so many people constantly telling you how great you are. I mean, I'm sure it's nice for the ego and all, but after a while, it would seem overwhelming to me, especially if I were that young.
AG, nice to see you back and in one piece, so glad you had a great time with Adam and Avenue Q!

I wonder if it's a bit of pressure sometimes having so many people constantly telling you how great you are.
In an interview from the Rosie Odonnel show a long time ago she asked someone (i dont remember who it was anymore) that question and he said "the only time its hard is those days that you dont believe it yourself" For some reason that has always stuck in my mind! I think because i always feel that these people we idolize sooo much should have the most confidence ever, but I guess everyone has confidence issues!
Of cource Michael shouldnt he REALLY is something wonderful!

Can someone PM it to me?
And I don't know if someone like Michael, who seems to take praise in stride, would allow himself to ever buy into his own hype. I see Michael as someone who always focuses on the task at hand and doesn't really concern himself with all the other stuff.
Of course I could be completely wrong and he actually has a shrine dedicated to himself in his apartment.

Back to Bare...um...we love Michael

I think I'm just going to hum the entire score in my head at the moment, to drown out the sound of my boss. If they'd let me listen to my IAudio, particularly with Bare/John/Michael singing, I'd be so much more productive!

APGal, yay for slow readers. Trisky was going to loan me the book but decided to give it to her mom first knowing that she would be able to finish before I completed the book I just started. :)
So ummm....how about that John Hill? This just in...HOT!

"Here's some news about another musical that I really enjoyed, ''Bare.'' TheaterMania.com is sponsoring an evening called ''Bare Facts'' on Sept. 12 at 6 p.m. at the Ars Nova, 511 W. 54th St., New York City. TheaterMania editor-in-chief Michael Portantiere talks with composer Damon Intrabartolo, director Kristin Hanggi and members of the great cast. $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Unfortunately, first rehearsal with newbies in our singing group is happening at the same time....*tear*

Guess where we'll be September 12th Trisky? Hee. Okay, who's coming with? Newcomer, More Cowbell?
And I'm sorry you won't be there 2Day!

Rehearsals are for an a capella singing group I'm in at college. Our auditions for fresh blood....uh, i mean members are the week up to the 12, and the 12 is our start up rehearsal. So no bare facts for me!

About BARE and Romeo & Juliet: I remember when BARE came out, some people (including the Broadway.com critic) compared it a bit to "R+J", the off-Broadway all-male 'adaptation' of Romeo & Juliet. I haven't seen "R+J", but I'm dying to once a theatre company around here mounts it. It has a cast of four actors playing private school boys who stumble upon an old edition of Romeo & Juliet, and proceed to act out the play. It's supposed to be a dark, thrilling piece of theatre. Some people have said that the Pilgrim's Hands scene in BARE - one of my favourite scenes in the musical - reminded them of "R+J". Did anyone get to see it?

BlueWizard, someone recommended this book to me today, since I posted encouraging other people to read At Swim, Two Boys (which I've successfully managed to do, thank you very much). It's called "The Catch Trap" by Marion Zimmer Bradley. I haven't read it myself, but the reviews on Amazon are pretty good.
Yay for the cast/crew doing this Q&A. They really extend themselves in so many ways that go above and beyond the call of duty. I realize a lot of it is done to provide more publicity for the show itself, but let me bask in the notion of it being as much about giving back to their fans for a bit.
Also, I saw my second Bare poster up, unfortunately with the Sept. 22 date on it, but it was nice and big in a parking garage entrance on 50th between 7th and 8th. I looked quite like the dork I am, strolling by it ever so slowly to take a good look!

You're right. What movie? Me is confuzzled again.
And seriously, it's just because we're both LOSERS and lost the Wicked and Avenue Q lotteries that we were forced to see it. Oy vey. :P
And I agree Trisky. It's amazing how much the Bare cast/crew/creators have given to the fans. I've never seen any other show do so much.

I have yet to read "At Swim, Two Boys," though I do own a copy of it, but I did read "Catch Trap" years ago and it has remained one of my favorite books. I highly recommend it.
And, to make this on-topic, I discovered Bare through a link on Playbill.com a couple of months ago, and fell in love with the songs on the Bare website. Since then, I've been lurking on the boards here and at thebarees.com, finding out everything I could about the show. The more I learned, the more I loved. I've even managed to hear the entire show now, and I have to admit, at this point, it's become something of an obsession. Time and money willing, I'm hoping to make a trip to New York early next year, and Bare is the first show on my list to see, so you guys keep buying tickets and make sure it's still open for me :)

Welcome 13, delurking is fun, you should come out more often.
Thanks for the second recommendation on the book. Let's see, where will I be stopping on my errand running lunch hour? Hmmm... It starts with a Barnes and ends with a Nobles! I hope they have some copies in stock since the book appears to be several years old.
MOG--Count me in...I put it on my social calendar...like I am that social? :)
Sadly, you'll come to the point that MoG has come to where she just assumes if she's free, then that means I am, because one of us without the other at these things is like peanut butter without the jelly (of course I hate peanut butter, so let's not psychoanalyze that too much). Even sadder, she's usually right.
You two are going to make me sit in the first row at this thing, aren't you?
I'm looking forward to this, minus the first row bit, it makes the longer wait to see the show a little more tolerable.
