Step off Newcomer. 2Day is my fake boyfriend!
OK, so who thinks we should turn this into a Wicked thread???
LMAO! Okay, Scott Algauer's (I'm sure I spelled his name wrong) boyfriend works for Wicked, no?
See, it can be done! :)

You had to go there didn't you? :P But actually I do think they're comparable especially in how callous Ivy and Glinda could be towards Matt and Boq respectively.
My God, everything is all about Wicked today.

LOL! Okay, you can be treasurer but we have to give Trisky a job. She can be secretary or something. :)

I'll take the position of CEO, a figurehead with no actual responsibilities! I'm lazy like that.
And don't worry 2day4u, I see the W***** parallels too. It's very much in the same unrequited love realm. This reminds me of when MoG and I were at W***** recently and during As Long As Your Mine, she leaned over to me and said "John and Michael have to sing this song". I couldn't watch the scene after picturing that.

You guys are too cute. And I would be a lucky girl to have you both as my honeys!
Is it too late to call John Hill as my third fake boyfriend?

I'm getting more and more obsessed with BWW (damn these slow summer days), reading threads hour after hour....yet I still can't keep up with this thread! LOL
So many things: first, aspiringguy, love your icon. Don't change it.
Second: thanks KatePrinceton for your thoughts on the LA production! I'm glad someone saw it.
Yes, she looks skinny in her headshot and she did wear padding on her body for the show, but it looked completely natural because of the shape of her face.
I'm glad to hear that the LA Nadia was amazing, but it's a bit disheartening that they still cast someone who was skinny enough to need body padding. (The same thing happened up here with the Toronto production of Hairspray - they chose a performer who needed padding to play Tracy). There aren't enough full-figured roles to go around, and goodness knows no matter how phenomenal a full-figured actress is, she would never be cast as Ivy. So when a role that demands a more voluptuous figure comes along, they really should find someone who is physically fit for that role. So I'm very happy that Natalie Joy Johnson gets to show off her talents as Nadia.
The line in NY is very short and to the point. Most of the changed lyrics for the NY run are better suited or easier to comprehend.
It could just be that we're used to the NY lyrics, but I do find the old LA lyrics awkward/cheesy. I think some of the new lyrics are more poetic and evocative, rather than rambling.
I like "Plain Jane Smart Ass," but it's a bit jarring in the scene in which it's placed. It seems to come out of nowhere, and is strange for Nadia to go on such a long rant at that particular moment. I agree that Nadia probably didn't want the role of Juliet anyway: no self-respecting teen rebel would want to play that prissy Shakespearean flake. "Plain Jane Smart Ass" definitely has its virtues, but it needs to be more seamlessly integrated into the plot.
Besides, who here in Manhattan hasn't already seen Newcomer's private parts!
Just Manhattan? I'm in Canada and I can point them out in a lineup!
That's a fantastic picture of you and Michael, Newcomer. Where's the larger version? Put it up in Fan Photos!
And while we're claiming positions for Michael's fan club - if we're using Robert's Rules, I'll be chair. Then all I do is direct discussion and act like the hand of authority.

I'm getting more and more obsessed with BWW (damn these slow summer days), reading threads hour after hour....
Oh god, let's not even discuss. My Plain Jane Fat Ass is just going to keep getting fatter the longer I sit here and do nothing but upload/download, make icons of, discuss, all things Bare. I remember when my weekends used to actually be spent outdoors...
The only other productive thing I managed to do this weekend was watch Hedwig for the first time.
And catch up on Amish in the City, which should really say a lot about my overall taste...

Hey, I like Amish in the City Trisky, so don't feel so bad. And you JUST saw Hedwig? I'm shocked.
There are some people in the world who say that writing stories, or composing music or dancing sparkly dances is easy for them. Nothing interferes with their ability to create. While I celebrate their creative freedom, a little part of me just wants to punch those motherf*ckers in the teeth...[tos]

HUGE understatement...but I can fill up a whole page on this thread talking about how wonderful Michael is.

Oh please Trisky, I seriously had the most unproductive weekend in the history of the world. See what happens when people leave me alone for the weekend? I do nothing!
And I am so with you guys on the W***** thing. I liked the show and all but do we need 1,000 posts about it? At least we gush and go OT on one thread! :)

I'm a woman of international mystery. What can I tell ya.
Well that and I wasn't always a Broadway fan, in fact, I didn't see my first Broadway show until last year! I'm a late bloomer who avoided Broadway like the plague because of a bad opera experience when I was in kindergarten.
Boys! No fighting over Michael, you'll bruise those pretty faces.
