We can actually cut the 7 weeks down to 6, because I can't divide it seems.
Gotta love that NYU education, I got! No wonder I dropped out.

Not a fan of NYU Trisky?
Seriously, I need to work. Just got an e-mail from the Princeton Review telling me to "Make the Most of Sophomore Year!" Apparently, I'm supposed to take the PSAT and visit some colleges. I think I'm taking the SAT just for the hell of it this coming year.
6 weeks sounds so much better

Actually I loved going to NYU. It's a great school. For various and sundry reasons I just couldn't continue. (And shhhh... I never so much as cracked a book for the SAT's.)
Speaking of colleges and to keep this on topic, what is Claire's line in See Me? "Berkely took their wait list?" For some reason that doesn't seem right to me.

I can't seem to find The Advocate anywhere. Grrr...

LOL That's funny about the SAT books, sorry about NYU.
I believe Peter applied for Berkely and was put on the wait list and then later accepted, but also applied for Notre Dame and was accepted. He must have applied to Berkely without telling his mother, who obviously wants him to go to Notre Dame.

I got my copy yesterday in the mail and haven't opened it yet - I will have to rush home and read it!! If nobody gets to it first I'll give a recap after I get home from work.

I totally forgot about the Advocate article. D'oh. I'm sure I can find it in the City today. BT, if you can't recap, I can scan it in later I'm sure. :)
Ugh, regents and SATs.

I've lost track as to who MoG's fake boyfriend is...
Someone must recap, that'd be great!
Regents aren't that bad at all, I've taken 3 and have 4 this year (AGH!)
SATs, I've yet to dive into that.

AG, what I meant was the actual line isn't clear to me. "Berkeley took their wait list" can't be right, can it? Took?
You're stressing for nothing about the SAT's. If you read well, you'll do fine.

I think the line is something like "Berkeley - their wait list"

Slightly off-topic (it's unlike me, I know
), but how do people afford to go to NYU and live in New York? I'm thinking of going there for grad school, but paying a truckload of cash for tuition - plus $1500/month American in rent - will kill me.
And yeah, that line from "See Me" confuses me too. I think it's funny that Peter wants to go to Berkeley (you all know why, heheheh), but the waiting list thing is a bit odd. And why would Claire be disappointed about her son going there? It's a great school!

LOL! Oh AG, you and 2Day are both my fake boyfriends except 2Day is my fake *legal* boyfriend. LOL!
"Berkeley took their wait list" can't be right, can it? Took?
Why can't that be right? I've heard that term used a lot in terms of schools and their wait lists.

OH, the LEGAL thing, I see how it is...
The line makes sense to me, I've heard scenarios about people being accepted but then put on a wait list.

It's the "took" that's throwing me off. It just seems wrong somehow, I'm not sure why. It would have been clearer if the line was something like "Berkeley called, you're wait list".
Poor Peter can't even get into Berkeley. But it brings to mind nice images to imagine that the original plan seemed to be for him to follow Jason Notre Dame. I wonder if he changed his mind before or after the break up.
Yes, I'm still avoiding work.
BlueWizard, part of the reason I had to drop out was financially related. I'm *still* paying off the 2 years I did finish and will be for the next 10 years.

I reviewed the song about 1500 times and she does seem to say "Berkeley took their wait list" - must be a term of art for accepting candidates to the wait list. I was never wait listed so I didn't worry about any schools "taking" their lists.

BlueWizard's our English major
Heheh, the ironic thing about English majors is that we really can't write (as my posts have probably revealed).
"Berkeley took their wait list" really doesn't make sense to me. They took their wait list and did what with it? (And I've always called it the "waiting list"). I think a better line would be "You're on Berkeley's wait[ing] list" or something.
And damn tuition! Maybe I should stay where I am; it's still expensive to me, but it's a helluva lot cheaper than in the States.

I think the took refers to that they've accepted him fully into the school. He's no longer on the wait list, but accepted into the school. Does that sound somewhat right?
The school called Peter's house to tell him that he was fully accepted, but he was at boarding school. So that explains "When they called I almost died."

Hmmm, that makes sense (after all, why would Peter not get into Berkeley). Then they should change the line "You got into Berkeley". Then you get a Sondheim-like echo with "Would you really go to Berkeley".
