The Glinda and Elphaba of BWW: MoG and Trisky!
Hmmm, which one am I...?
Posted: 9/3/04 at 1:42am
LOL! It really did dawn on me tonight watching them on stage. I really am the Glinda to your Elphaba. That's scary right there! :)
LOL I can't wait to meet you too, it'll will be the greatest!
I have to see JLT, maybe December break...hmmmm...
Same here hon! Definitely catch JLT. I love her to pieces!
The Glinda and Elphaba of BWW: MoG and Trisky!
Newcomer can attest to the accuracy of this statement!
Hi Baremusicalfan! Welcome! :)
BlueWizard, what's the movie recommendation?

I'd so be the spastic guy who yells "The Wizard will see you now!"

Heheheh, I edited my post because I didn't want to sound like a shill. But the movie is "Another Country", and it was the first gay-themed movie I ever saw. It's coming out on DVD next week, and I'm uber-excited! It's a British film from 1984 starring a captivating and gorgeous Rupert Everett as a private schoolboy who falls in love with another beautiful young man, played by Cary Elwes. Their scenes together are perhaps the most romantic gay scenes I've ever seen on film. The movie also features a very young Colin Firth.
Okay, enough of me gushing about my favourite gay movies/books. Let's go back to our favourite gay musical, BARE!

LOL! That is so funny! If I wasn't Glinda, I would be one of those weird bobble head things during "One Short Day" :P
Anything but the monkeys. Have I mentioned that I couldn't watch The Wizard of Oz for years because I was traumatized by the flying monkeys?
Thanks for the recommendation BlueWizard. I've never seen that movie but will definitely check it out when it comes out!

OMG, me too! But if you thought the flying monkeys were frightening, have you seen "Return to Oz"? Those screaming monkeys on unicycles are the SECOND SCARIEST THINGS EVER!! (The Black Riders from LOTR coming in first place.)

LOL! I'm so glad someone understands my pain. Trisky always pats my hand in a little mock support of my fear! :P
Haven't seen Return to Oz though. Me is scared for sure now. And don't even mention the Black Riders.
*Shudders*
I love the monkey at the beginning who always just randomly makes a noise. He did it both times I saw the show.
LOL! AG, that noise is so random. He did it tonight as well!
Mmmmm. I totally luv that MoG...I get to be the hottie you and Trisky fawn over...I'm so there....
Honey, we'll fight over you now as is! :)

What do you think Bare's chances are of eventually moving to bway?
Posted: 9/3/04 at 2:12am
I'm completely stumped. It could go either way. The show now has a HUGE following (thanks to the free CD sampler they gave out - that was a genius marketing decision), and a lot of people are curious about the show. But its original run at the ATA was in a 108-seat venue. I'm already anxious about the 499-seat one; does BARE have the pomp, spectacle and publicity needed to be on Broadway?

A week after
its a totaly different kind of broadway musical
all the people that I have let listen to it say that its something totaly different then what I listen to usually (even Rent)

It all depends how well the show goes with audiences. The show already has an advantage as they were a hit back with ATE, but there could always be room to make business better. If the show does well, it may have an open-ended run, where the show will continue until business slows up badly. Or if they do really well (and get the NY Times nod), they could get a Broadway transfer. It's too early to tell at this point, I guess. You'll have to see if BARE will be open Easter Break.
Which I didnt know that
and yea I said I was going 2 bed like 45 mins ago but I still cant sleep

Anyway, sounds like the Barees "wicked" pair had a good time last night, per usual!! Trisky, I didn't post on you LJ but I can't believe you saw my former dream BF! I am so jealous!
I really need to go see Wicked someday...not sure why I haven't seen it yet, no I know why, too preoccupied with BARE
