Please not us make any mention of the monkeys. For the first 8 years of my life I watched The Wizard of Oz with a blanket over my head, so I could cover my eyes whenever they appeared on screen.

AG, it's so funny you should mention that random monkey noise. I was listening to um... what was I listening to last night, uh... this thing... that happened to appear in my ears... yes... um, so, anyway... I was listening to this thing and I hear this squawking noise and what do you know, it's the monkey with his random noises!

Since we've now cast the roles of Glinda, Elphaba, and Fiyero, surely we need a Wizard and who better than the artist known as BlueWizard? Methinks we might have a Tony winning revival right here on this thread and W***** hasn't even closed yet!

Trisky, I didn't post on you LJ but I can't believe you saw my former dream BF! I am so jealous!

I seriously do not know when Joshua Jackson became hot, but he was unbelievably hot last night. This is why I sometimes love the NYC subway system!

About whether Bare can make the move to Broadway. Provided they were in a small enough house, I think it could transfer in terms of the production being believable and still intimate. However, the question is are they capable of selling those tickets? It doesn't appear to me that the tickets at Dodger's are selling all that quickly, but this might be a case of it needing to re-open again and having it spread by word of mouth before you can really gauge it's ability to fill the seats.

I have to say, I think this has become my favorite song. The lyrics are pure poetry. I also think Michael imbues it with such vocal nuance that you simply can't get it out of your head.

Sigh. Have I mentioned how much I hate Jesus Christ Superstar yet? Used to love it, but now that I'm in it (and this production really isn't looking pretty so far), not so much.

Anyhoo, we have a sighting. A friend of mine in L.A went to see Hairspray last night for the John Hill! And who does she see at stage door? Michael, Jenna and she thinks Damon. She talked to Michael and Jenna and said they were awesome (as always). So nice to see them supporting John!

I guess they're out there for the cast recording, no?

Yay to MoG's friend for seeing the BARE cast in LA! Who knew they were bi-coastal?

The Red Cross has been pestering me for weeks to give blood. I guess there is a shortage?? So everyone who can give blood, please do so!

I would love to give blood, but I'm not allowed to because I like fooling around with other guys. Is it the same in the States?

I know exactly how you feel! I was in a production of JCS a few years ago -- hated the show ever since. Has anyone else noticed how the show doesn't really make sense, how songs and moments just jump around with nothing connecting them? Bothered the hell out of me.

Really? You'd think I know this. No wonder they have blood shortages. Of course if I spend another week in England, I will be ineligible for blood donation. Go figure.

Faile - I can confirm it. I tried to give blood at one of our dear federal agency blood drives and after I answered the gay question they told me they would still take my blood so I wasn't embarrassed about being turned down and people didn't ask questions but they would destroy it. How is that for insane. I told them I'd keep it in my veins. It is particularly sad because I have a rare blood type that is always in demand. Ah well, that's life in our progressive society...

What?? They wanted to take your blood for the hell of it and then destroy it, rather than use it to help people(or at least leave it in your system for you to use)???

Yes MoG, it's an extremely discriminator regulation that doesn't make sense. Who's to say that a straight black woman in their blood? The statistics on HIV infections are about the same as for gay men. And they test the blood anyway. I guess they're being choosy as to who they discriminate against.

Ah well, that's life in our progressive society...

So true. I've gotten turned away for low iron before and it was very frustrating because I waited for so long, but getting turned away for being gay. It just seems wrong. They test all the blood before it is used, so why continue to turn away willing donors?

The blood donation thing makes me sad. My family always gives blood, my dad is a regular donor. My dad has even won Broadway tickets for it. That's how my parents saw "The Producers" lol. That's seems pointless to me to turn down gay men who are clean and willing to give blood. Seems like the Red Cross is contributing to the shortage.

BT-That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Take your blood and destroy it?! Good for you to keep it for yourself and good use.
