That's sad to hear -- does that happen often? (skipping out without paying?)
Not often, but it does happen. There was another one at HOW TO SUCCEED where some women won for I think $5000, but it turns out she was drunk and just wanted to get a reaction from Daniel Radcliffe. She vanished after bidding but we did manage to find the under bidder in that case, and he bought it for around $4,500.
It sucks that there are people who do things like that.
At BENGAL TIGER Robin Williams auctions a photo taken with the winner & cast on stage.
ETA: Yep, at the Saturday the matinee the bowtie sold for $13,000 to a legitimate bidder.

They mentioned the person who bailed at the matinee of Bengal Tiger yesterday. Stunned about $13,000 for the bow tie. I was one of the 2 who won it for $4,000 on Fridsy night and I know I was crazy

I was curious, what type of payment does each shows accept for the collection when they do this type of collection? Do they accept credit cards?
Yes, they definitely accept credit cards. I believe the last time I purchased something they had those little things where you put the card under carbon paper, run something over the top of it, and it makes an imprint of the card number and everything.

They do accept credit cards. How to Succeed had actual computerized machines (smart as they were running totals of several thousand dollars) the other two shows I won during Easter Bonnet season used the older style carbon machines. They took VISA and Mastercard and possibly the other major credit cards. How to Succeed just did another fundraiser on October 6 for The Trevor Project. At Christmas during the Gypsy of the Year there will be another round of fundraising for BC/EFA by Broadway and touring companies.

I'll be in New York from July 21-29, 2012. I'm hoping to pick up a couple of signed window cards while I'm seeing shows. Is there any chance for that?
I got one for SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER when I was there in December 2006, but I don't remember seeing any when I was there in March 2008.
I'd love to pick one up from EVITA and HARVEY. Possibly, SPIDER-MAN (if I enjoy it).
No, unless you purchase them and get them signed as stage door.
It is not currently a BCEFA season. It happens twice a year for approx 4-6 weeks each time. (Maybe it's longer now.)
Awesome. Thanks for the help. I enjoy stage dooring, so that works for me.
