Yes. I mean I bet it'd be Karen playing Dolly but I'd pay to see that.

No. Bernadette is doing 8.

Is there any official (or semiofficial) word on how long Gavin Creel and Kate Baldwin have extended their contracts?

She's definitely got the humor, vocal chops, and making a return to Broadway in her first musical since Young Frankenstein would be an event all in itself!"
YES! I mentioned her before in this thread. She'd be ideal in the role.
I'd love to see Andrea Martin in the role, at times Donna reminded me a little of her.

I think the role of Dolly Levi is much more suited to her than that of Mama Rose in Gypsy, or Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun. I think Bernadette brought what she could to those 2 roles, but overall wasn't 100% right for them (although I have to admit, after seeing a video of La LuPone in a production of Annie Get Your Gun, I'd have to say Bernie was a way better choice). Bernie always sounds amazing on the cast recordings though. All this being said, I'm planning on going to see this show for my upcoming birthday."
Wait, Patti Lupone did a production of Annie Get Your Gun? That sounds like an absolutely awful idea no matter how brilliant Lupone is. Did she add any new pathos to Annie Oakley?

Wow. Also, is that THE James Earl Jones so far down in the billing in that announcement?

You mean listed alphabetically under his surname?

Unless they haven't released all seats yet, it looks like basically all of the centre orchestra seats including premium seats for Bernadette'a first performance are sold out. Cool! Interesting to see the orchestra seats and cheap balcony seats are selling well. The mezz a bit harder to move at this stage - probably because it's priced similarly to the orchestra level so people are opting for those seats first. Given we are so far out this will bode well for a strong start though I think.

Yes considering how all the other bigger names were listed separately even if their parts were smaller.

Thanks for the reference. So most likely it's not the same James Earl Jones that the Playbill article linked to.
