BERNADETTE is DOLLY - official

"Producer Scott Rudin announced today that the legendary two-time Tony Award-winning Bernadette Peters, capping a 60-years-long career of triumph after triumph as "the most accomplished musical comedy star of her generation" (The Washington Post), will take on the title role in the most successful and beloved Broadway production of the year: HELLO, DOLLY! Ms. Peters will begin performances Saturday evening, January 20, 2018, prior to a Thursday, February 22 opening night. A new block of tickets goes on sale, via Telecharge.com and Shubert Theatre box office, Saturday, September 9, at 10:00 A.M. (ET)."

Well, we know at least Bette, David, and Taylor all leaving the company at the same time.

So when does this news get rescinded?  After Cynthia Erivo complains that Bernadette isn't a PoC?

Thanks! This is perfect casting at its finest. I'm wondering when we'll get news of Taylor's replacement. Are Gavin and Kate staying with the show/are they extending?

This. If Rafael or Cynthia criticized a Rudin show, they would lone their place in the business. So of course they criticized one of the weaker shows.

Anyone know when tickets for Bernadette's run go on sale? I can't find the announcement, but I may have missed it.

Is it bad I'm slightly more excited about Victor than Bernadette? Because I kinda am. Can't wait to see both of them, though. 

Yaaaas. Also, the original production did go dark after Channing left for Bailey's production to come in. I think she had previews and an official opening too. But it was almost a new production, with new costumes, arrangements, and a completely new company.
