Anyone see the out of town previews?
Any word on this? Really looking forward to it.

I'm interested to see how the Witch has changed from the out of town tryout seeing as it's now a younger actress, just out of college I believe. The Witch was not the eyepatch wearing, old woman as in the film but rather a riffing Michelle Visage/Drag Queen type of character.
On that note, anyone know why Katie Thompson left the production?

I, too, am very excited about this show...I'm seeing it Sept. 25th.
I'm actually a little surprised, though, at the lack of hoopla surrounding BIG FISH especially considering that previews start in six days. No word on an OC album...nuttin'...
Anyway...can't wait...

It does appear the Big Fish is coming in as under the radar as possible for a big, expensive musical. I haven't seen any posters about around Midtown or the subways and have yet to see a TV spot.
I think it's dangerous to wait until previews or opening to make a big marketing push.
I'll be going on Thursday and am very curious about what the show will be like. Is the credited source material solely the novel, or do they cite the movie as well?

Posted: 8/30/13 at 6:31pmIt really is alarming that there is pretty much zero buzz going around for this one. My friend was able to score amazing 2fer seats for the performance on the 11th for a birthday present for me. Based on a bunch of email's I have received (and word through the company I work for), it will be papered heavily through previews and the Simon is a big house to fill. There is much more buzz surrounding Glass Menagerie. Regardless, I am excited to see this....and then Anna Nicole the next week!

Posted: 8/30/13 at 6:54pmIt worries me when shows come in without building hype and buzz. I really like this show for the most part. Norbert and Kate are stunning. I really hope they made some changes for Broadway though. The last fifteen minutes in particular need work. There's a song VERY reminiscent of "Finding Wonderland" that needs to be cut and/or changed.

Posted: 8/31/13 at 12:52pmHaving mostly liked the Chicago version - am interested to hear of changes. But, I do wonder how much attention Stroman has been paying to Big Fish since she has Bullets Over Broadway opening in March.

Posted: 9/1/13 at 3:54amI just don't foresee this catching on. The poster alone just doesn't entice me. It doesn't say "fun" or "epic" or anything that a big, splashy musical should. But I did notice that they added a lot of "dancer dancers" to the production, so maybe they'll spruce it up.

Yikes those sets look pretty terrible. It looks like a regional production. And is anyone else getting Olive Garden from the logo?
