I'm really looking forward to this show. I see it on March 12th to help get rid of the bile that was Spider Man.
Onward...and hopefully upwards!

I'm also seeing it on March 12th, once a month. How funny. I can't wait! I saw it twice in London, and I absolutely adore the show. I'm skeptical about the changes, but I still can't wait.

The chorus boy with the white shirt and big hair annoyed me.

Another reason to not show the guys in drag...

Can anyone who's seen the show before attest as to whether it would be fun to see even without knowing the 'dance floor classic' songs? I was raised in the midwest (thankfully since escaped to NYC) on AC/DC and Foreigner, so that type of music has never really found its way into my life. Would I still enjoy Priscilla?

Does anyone know the orchestra size? I know the Palace has a minimum of 15 or so.

Orchestra is seven pieces.
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

Are you sure? According to Local 802 the minimum is 18.

Yes. A musical can get past the minimum by invoking the "special situations" clause (see page 11) and saying that the show artistically requires the smaller orchestra (ie: a show with pop music like Priscilla does not require a traditional full sized theatre orchestra), especially if the precedent has already been set by a West End production. It's why Mamma Mia! has nine musicians in a theatre that requires 18, for example.
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

I saw this in Toronto and could not have been more pleased. Hope it finds a lot of success.
Katurian2, I think you will enjoy it regardless. And, you might know a lot of the songs.

massofmen, why do you think that?

massofme, it also played to consistent sold out crowds in Toronto for three months. Are Broadway audiences really that hard to please that a show can be a hit in 3 countries and not here?

Perhaps what Mass meant, which I also fear, is that most US theatergoers (tourists, those likely not reading this forum) will be less willing to accept the drag/trans points of the show, than those Europe/Australia and I guess Canadian audience. I saw this in London and loved it, I hope it runs a long time, but the heavy reliance of the Divas worries me.

haha- Well based on the track listing above, I know exactly 2 of them! I ever youtubed them to see if I was familiar. idk- I literally loathed the Four Seasons going into Jersey Boys and knew only about 3 of their songs, and came out loving that one. Hopefully, this will be the same.
I think this will sell fine. If La Cage could sell drag 30-something years ago now, why can't they sell it in an even more commercially viable package now? I'd hope we haven't progressed backwards.

Are Canadian crowds really that different from Americans? The show will do great! Saw it in Toronto twice, and absolutely loved it! It is my favourite show. Once the word gets around, it will do great.
