Did anyone go to Broadway 101, if so what did you think?
I attended B'way 101 tonight, and LOVED it. Had a great time. Such amazing performances. I wish I lived out in California to catch Julia Murney as EVITA, she sounded great tonight. Seth, as always, was completely hysterical. And a small part of me was very, very fulfilled by hearing Andrea McArdle sing "Tomorrow" live.
Barbra no longer has a hold on Don't Rain on My Parade after Lilias White tore through it tonight. Unbelievable, terrific, great, all the adjectives you can think of. And for me, I was fulfilled by getting Another Hundred People live by Pamela Myers. Such joy. What a great show it was. Loved it!!!

Was there at the 7pm show. Truly Ah-MAH-zing. Wonderful performances all around and a terrific orchestra.
I was at the 9:30 show, it was great! Almost the exact same thing that I saw last year, still very enjoyable and hysterical. Seth is an amazing entertainer!
Seth- If you read this, thanks for another great evening! I hope you found a babysitter for your son (I was the one with the baby chatting with you at Starbucks this morning)
I would KILL to see Julia Murney play Eva after seeing that clip of her singing Buenos Aires.

I was at the 9:30 show, and I am legit contemplating a trip to Sacramento this summer to check out her Evita, it was *that* amazingly fierce live.
what topics did Seth cover tonight?

Aww, the video isn't working well for me. It stops every time Seth asks something about picking up fat.

What a Full Orchestra Sounds Like
Chest vs. Head Voice

Swing
Quick Change
Knowing Your Placement On Stage (numbers on the floor)
Riffing

Broadway Stories Everyone Should Know (Seth's top 3)
Laurie Beechman was amazing
And there were fun little tidbits from Seth's childhood sprinkled in, too.
Did I forget anything? :)
I didn't realize it was going to be the same show as last year, but that didn't matter, it was a lot of fun.
That guy Groff, though-I don't see what's so great about him.
Seth's the star here, though. Is there anything that guy can't do? Sings, dances, acts, plays violin, piano, and probably every other instrument..what a guy! Love him!
Care to share the 3 stories?
Seth is a creepy cliche.

I was at the 7pm show, and thought it was great. Seth was hyper, but very entertaining. Lillias White and Norm Lewis were the highlights for me. I have to say, though, that I thought Jonathan Groff's "Morning Glow" was a disappointment - his singing was overwhelmed by consistent, really loud slurping noises whenever he took a breath. It was really distracting. I had seen "Spring Awakening" from the first row, so was aware of a spitting issue, but it was very audible last night.
One of the stories was about the mother in Sound of Music having a very thick english accent and when she said "cant face" it sounded like "c_unt face"
The 2nd was at the end of West Side Story when Maria is threatening the Jets and Sharks and the other guy and the gun sound goes off at the wrong time so everyone acts scared when she threatens then since she already "shot" this other guy
The third was about a Zach who used improve in A Chorus Line when questioning the cast he asks 2 people "Broadway?" one responds "no" and the other "touring companies" as an improve this Zach said what show and the cast member said "umm A Chorus Line" so the audience thought they were watching and inside of the story...
All three seemed much funnier the way they were acted and told by him and the cast.
I was at the 9:30 show. I've been humming and singing Morning Glow all day long. I liked Jonathan's version of the song. I saw the original with John Rubinstein, and I can imagine Groff playing the role in a revival. Considering everyone performed for free, I wouldn't can't be critical of anyone's performance. It was a good night at the theater!
Did Julia Murney mention anything about wearing that wig?
It was the same show and it was amazing. I agree that Seth is pretty brilliant, he does it all... and i was just a thrill to see his devotion for musical theater.
Also all of the dancers and the musicians who donated there time did fantastic. Rickey Tripp from In the Heights was funny as hell with one single beat and the other sexy Heights boy Luis Salgado made my night... I wanted to be Julia Murney t have him touching me at the end of Buenos Aires.
