Stop this thread NOW, no rush to see Spring Awakening, I saw the show tonight the show was a sell out, albeit I got my ticket at discount, but I guess it is a bit like Chicago and Blood Brothers in that its a cheap show to produce, so fingers crossed it might get a stay of execution.
Even with closure noticed issued the cast still gave 110%, I enjoyed the story and some of the songs are great, the show took me a while to get into it, but was worth the wait!
I see kevin Adams won a Tony for his lighting design, well he deserves a Olivier as well, as I have not seen this notion of lighting done before and must of taken a great amout of imagination. also this scooped a tony in 2007 for best musical and to be honest I can see this winning an Olivier for best musical for all the wrong reasons.
Very good show, shame it is closing too early, the reviews bit of the top though, but hell it must be a ball to have one of those seats on the stage.
Hey guys, am settin off for London tomorro and so will have limited/no internet acceess. I think we are dayticketing for front row, but if not i'll be with a group of geordie lasses, find me :P
Hope everyone enjoys meeting up on Wednesday and hasa great time at the show. I'm hoping to get to see it one more time on Saturday afternoon (if my train gets in on time!).
It's a sad indictment of the West End that a musical that is so powerful so beautiful and has so much emotionala and dramatic depth to its text is closing so early while other really flimsy shows run for years. I'm just so glad I've gotten to experience its wonders twice already - and I really hope I can get to see it again on Saturday.
