Since the Theater Gunshots thread has been lost, I figure that I'll start a new thread for this.
What's the scoop on loud gunshots/pyrotechnics/noises in Back To The Future?
I saw a post, about the London production, where someone noted that the pyro effects don't make much noise. HOWEVER, when it comes to startling sounds/moments, the main one is the BANG sound effects (likely from the soundboard) that are heard when the Delorean first appears. - Is this still the case for the Broadway production? (In short, for jumpy people like me, is the only part to really be prepared for the arrival of the Delorean?)
Thanks, as always, for the information/help you all give me on this site!
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
The opening scene with Marty and Doc's speaker is loud and features sparks. You'll hear the DeLorean bang sound effects at least twice, a sonic boom type effect each time the DeLorean reaches 88 mph, and loud bell chimes and lightning in the storm scene. Honestly, the Fast and Furious wannabees racing up and down my block in Brooklyn at 2 in the morning are more jarring than what's on stage. Enjoy!

Cool! Thanks for the insight. (Hopefully, it will help others on here, as well.)
Personally, it's all about the gunshot & explosion sound effects. Loud rock music & racing car sound effects are absolutely fine & quite thrilling for me. So, I'm kinda looking forward to all of that.
