Sweet Charity 1986 revival.
Those orchestrations used for the recording are deadly.

less than halfway down the page there is a thread titled "cast recordings that were made which you wish had never been made".
was that not close enough to you're desired idea?

Vanessa Williams is alright but you can't beat the OBC!

The only reason I am putting this here is that they did a double CD with no individual tracks

I love this recording but its just hard to hear:
Secret Garden's cast recording is recorded very light and can be heard at parts when its meant to be loud, but when its a slow ballad such as "How Could I Ever Know" you have to squeeze you're ears to hear the vocal.

Mr. Roxy, I believe you can return your 1 tracked Human Comedy and get the second pressing, where the songs were broken up into individual tracks. Try contacing Original Cast Records.
My two choices when these threads come up: the OBCR of Dreamgirls, where at least 50% of the score was left off of the recording, and the OBCR of The Producers, with ear-splitting wrong notes coming from the orchestra.

Posted: 11/25/06 at 10:35pmI love the show to death, but I really have to say that I find Drowsy's recording mediocre. It doesn’t allow the cast to shine as much as they do on stage.

yeah, being that i LOVE LOVE drowsy, i find the cast recording disappointing....not enough of bob martin's silly comments....ex: antarctica oh please!
i also don't love a lot of parts of you're a good man charlie brown revival cast...i can't listen to a lot of lucy's songs because they hurt my ears!

I love the London INTO THE WOODS. I much prefer the OBC, of course. You can't get ANY better than Bernadette, Chip Zien, and especially Joanna Gleason. But, I think the London cast is an interesting alternate. The revival recording is barely decent. I HATED the changes they made to the show in the revival. Little Red and Jack at the end of Steps of the Palace, the two wolves in Hello, Little Girl, and the new lyrics to Last Midnight drive me up the wall. Plus a couple of the performances (both on stage and on the recording) were dreadful.
The original BAKER'S WIFE recording is pretty rough. It's not recorded well and there's so little of the show represented. It's the only thing that comes to mind.

What's wrong with the Wicked OBC? It sounds like the show.
What about Brooklyn? Just wow.

"What's wrong with the Wicked OBC? It sounds like the show."
exactly!
The only thing I didn't like about the Into the Woods revival was adding another wolve. That was unneeded.

The revival of Damn Yankees it is a terribly made recording.
Brooklyn what's with the annoying people.
Wicked why they felt the need to skip the one song that gave away the ending.

Sunset Boulevard with Glenn Close -- she ruined it and almost everyone else with the exception of George Hearn are worse than the ones in the London Cast
Jekyll and Hyde Broadway Cast -- horrendous, when compared with the Anthony Warlow studio cast recording
Brooklyn -- one of the worst I've heard so far
