I really don't think we'll see Bailey again after this. She is like a child star, you hear about them for a while & then their gone.

When I saw her in Blonde I had no expectations and was completely blown away by her stage presence, voice and dancing skills.
I don't think she's going to get another leading role right out of the gate, probably a nice supporting piece, but she definitely does have a career in front of her. She is very talented and I do think if she separates herself from "Blonde" once she finishes her run she can have a further career on Broadway, and here's hoping she does. She definitely has the talent.

Posted: 9/2/08 at 9:48pmI can imagine her being an Amber in Hairspray. Or a Patty Simcox in Grease. That's about it.

Posted: 9/2/08 at 9:51pmI can see her in a bunch of roles, from whatshername in Mamma Mia! to Kiera in Xanadu to Arial in Little Mermaid, and a bunch of supporting roles in between.

Posted: 9/2/08 at 10:12pmI bet anything she will play Glinda. Not that I want her to, I just see it happening. And Definitely Amber in Hairspray.

Posted: 9/2/08 at 10:15pmI think she's got a good shot at a career after this. I mean, she'll be recognized by non-theatre fans so that's a bonus. She'll need to strike while the iron is hot though.

Posted: 9/2/08 at 10:18pmI'm sorry but she doesn't have the voice for Glinda, she probably won't do much after Blonde

defyinggravity, have you SEEN her as Elle in the show? Chances are, if you have, then you will "get" why we all think she has a future on Broadway. I wasn't all that impressed with her on the reality show either, but seeing her perform onstage really convinced me she has what it takes to sell a character and show.
And DCR, making her Glinda would be a GREAT idea!

I do not think this will be the end of Bailey.
She's very talented with even more potential that is totally untapped.
She'd be great as a replacement when Hilty leaves 9 TO 5 .

I think that is a REALLY good idea. I could definitely see that happen!

She has to audition for a role like any other actress on Broadway. Only handful people are offered for a role, after building their career.
Of course, if Hairspray or Wicked needs to do a stant casting, she may not need to audition, but other than that, her competition would be very tough.

Posted: 9/2/08 at 11:33pmShe definitely will work for a while. I could totally see her as Dainty June in Gypsy.

Before I saw her in the show, I would have said no. However, after seeing her in Legally Blonde, (where she was fabulous) I think she absolutely will. I'm sure at some point she'll turn up as Glinda in Wicked (if she has the soprano notes), and even Amber in Hairspray.
I think she'll definitely be around, and working. She is quite talented.

Posted: 9/2/08 at 11:54pmI agree. I think she definitely has what it takes to be a big star. I would love to see her as Glinda, and I think she actually does have the singing chops. She has a really clear strong belt and it wouldn't surprise me if she has the soprano notes. I mean she IS working with Joan Lader haha.

She'll be sharing shifts with Donna Murphy at the Olive Garden in Times Square.

Posted: 9/3/08 at 12:53amI'm sure she will get work based solely on name recognition and the fact that she's pretty and has a nice voice. But honestly after seeing her as Elle Woods, I would have no desire to see her carrying a show in the future. She sang the role better than I expected but I'm sorry guys...an actress she is not.

I could actually see that.
I don't think her voice is at all right for Glinda.
It was awesome. - theaterkid1015

Posted: 9/3/08 at 10:35amI think its hilarious that you are all "seeing" her in various ditzy blonde roles, hello stereo type??? She has an amazing voice and your comments are insulting to say the least.

Posted: 9/3/08 at 10:41amIf she had any sense at all she'd check into a good, accredited theater conservatory, learn her craft while keeping in touch with her contacts and then come back after four years...starting at stage one again, yes, but with more know-how.
