Hello, it was on MTV, you know that immensely popular channel among preteens and young adults, who are ironically the same target audience for Legally Blonde? The show got a lot of exposure, so naturally a lot of people are going to hear the song, like it, and download it. What's so shocking that it entered the top 100?

Now, if the fanbase from this show will go beyond just downloading a song and move to ticket sales is something that only time will tell.

I really liked Cassie...she was def not Elle Woods but I liked her singing. I'd buy her single over Bailey's any day.

When you go to the iTunes store and search "So Much Better", it will show LBB's and Bailey's listed and under the "Popularity" category, Bailey's is more popular than LBB's.

But that could be because LBB's So Much Better was on the cast recording and so people wouldn't need to buy it on iTunes. Only way to get Baileys is iTunes or Amazon, etc.

Well, of course at this point the song will be more popular than Laura Bell Bundy's version...Bailey's version is more fresh in everyone's mind since she literally just won the competition. Everyone is racing to download that one since it was just released. Downloads for LBB's version have probably slowed down because most who want it have it - it has been out for some time now.

But people could buy Bailey's on hard copy from Ghostlight, too. Some people who buy the OBCRs on iTunes sometimes only buy the songs they like. They don't need to buy the whole CD unless they want to.

It doesn't matter - Bailey's version is new as opposed to LBB's which has been out for a year or so...naturally sales will slow down for LBB's version, thus making it less popular. And, yes, you can buy Bailey's on Ghostlight, but most are probably buying off iTunes at this point because why wait for one song in the mail when you can have it right then and there from iTunes?

jacobsnchz14 in terms of someone buying the songs that they want form a cast album on Itunes. The same is true for any genre of music. This has been an problem with the RIAA for a long time. In that people are just buying the songs that they want instead of the entire album.

I am sure Ghostlight realized that most of their sales were going to come from internet sales. Only because most people wouldn't pay to have a one track CD mailed to them when they could get the contents of the CD cheaper online and get it right then and there.

The people who want Bundy's version have it and thus it isn't as popular anymore. The OBCR has been out for close to a year. Whereas Baily's version is only a couple of days old and has the following of the hoards of teens who watched the reality show.

i agree with you winston and i am shocked it entered the top 100 too. hopefully ticket sales go up but i hope kate rockwell goes on alot and breaks the margot curse.


plus i am one who wont buy baileys version, and i couldnt get through 15 seconds of the preview.

I found it interesting that by 12:30 yesterday a new discount for the show had been released. Perhaps ticket sales didn't equal the sales of the single in terms of popularity.

I think it would take more time for the shows ticket sales to match that of the single. Keep in mind that a lot of teens already have summer plans right now. They might want to come to NY during the holidays to see her instead of seeing her over the summer.

I think that ticket sales will pick up from the reality show. I just think it will happen gradually instead of over night.

Who was playing Margot in the MTV reality show? Was that Haven?

Kate has a great voice. I remember her on the Grease reality show, and I didn't understand why she got voted off so soon.

Haven was the one playing Margot in the reality show. She was in the cast during the time of the filming.

I think that the reason why Ashford and Haven only went on once is because that particular track is the second Elle understudy while the one Becky had where she was in the enesmeble and playing Elle was technically first understudy.
