The same thing happened with her and reprising her role for London, doesn't mean it's true.
I'm a professional. Whenever something goes wrong on stage, I know how to handle it so no one ever remembers. I flash my %#$&. "Jayne just sat there while Gina flailed around the stage like an idiot."

Unless they either FIRED Becky or convinced her to take paid vacation for the two weeks (or whatever it was) when the tour was there. Only other option is if it coincided with her contract ending. It's not automatic for the contract to be for the entire length of the tour.

However, highly unlikely.....

I wouldn't be surprised if they paid Becky to sit the Greenville run out and put Bailey in. Think of all the 'local girl makes good' publicity the tour would get.

I thought she was understudying Dainty June?

Emma Zacks is the understudy for Dainty June in Gypsy.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was true. They would have to pay Becky Gulsvig not to perform, but would probably get a lot of free publicity out of it, which would translate into additional ticket sales.

This doesn't sound so odd to me. I could see it happening.

What's unfair about it? There is no guarantees in their contracts that they have to go on.

This is a publicity stunt, plain and simple...having Bailey perform in her hometown would generate a lot of new interest in the show during that stop. In that area, close to her hometown, Bailey's name would sell tickets.

very likely, all they have to do is pay the original her contract pay and they can bring bailey in. the original cant say anything as long as she is being paid her contractual salary.

I can't really imagine a 4 or 5 day run NEEDS any help selling tickets, but it is after all, a business.

And rumors are just rumors...anything can happen.

Hasn't Legally Blonde been released for local productions now? Is it possible Greenville is considering putting on its own production of Legally Blonde and casting Bailey? That's how the newspaper article with Brad Hanks sounded to me.

It doesn't make sense to teach Bailey the in's and out's of the tour for only a week.

Bailey has to eventually let go of the role. I think it's unfair to Rihannon, Lauren, and Becky that Bailey can just come back out of nowhere and reprise her role for 5 days.

Dear Bailey aka B.Hanks,(As I like to call her)
Hey girl, how are yah? I'm not sure if you remember me but I am the guy who you gave your straw to at the Starbucks near the Palace theatre, you were very sweat we sat and had coffee together then you had to go early cause you had a show, but anyways I just have some advice, lets call them words of wisdom.
So, there are some rumors that you are A) attached to LB in the West End and B) doing a lil stint in the tour in your hometown...Bailey,Bailey,Bailey. Oh Bailey. You need to branch yourself away from Elle, don't get me wrong you were totes cute as her but really, do you want to be Idina Menzel all over again and only be known for RENT and Wicked? Be attached to something till the day your dead? I mean really people are going to start to call you Topol. Like when you did Sharpay, that was good! You got away from Elle. Not drastically away...but a few steps down the road.
So anywho, my advice is, don't be afraid to replace roles on Broadway,a few more regional roles, etc etc. Think of it as this "Stick with Elle, your career goes to hell". Anyways...Much love, stay cute!

XOXOXO
