Posted: 5/29/06 at 4:41pmAre you referring to the FAIRYTOPIA musical that's been touring? That one played here in Boston a month or two ago. I had no desire to see it, but I considered taking my niece because she loves her Barbie. We didn't go, though. I hate the title. It's so generic. I was at Walgreens the other day and they had an accompanying video called MERMAIDIA. Please!

Muscle23- Don`t waist your time and money going to see a cheap Pre-school show! and I`m sure all of the 2-7 year olds would ruin it by crying and talking loud!

yes! My friend and I took her little sister for her birthday, and let me assure you, banging your head against an axe for 3 hours would be a better experience.

Posted: 5/29/06 at 10:47pmI saw a Barbie show with my sister a while back, and it is the WORST thing you will ever see in a theater. Everything about it looked fake, and AHHHH it was just awful! Dora the Explorer live was better.

that picture looks about as gay as a scene in Lestat!
in fact, isn't that a SCENE from Lestat?!

Posted: 5/30/06 at 4:53pmWell, if this is all a mission to scout out a guy for a friend, then I say go and do your fairy duty! I'm guessing it won't be Tony material, but what the heck...
re: Barbie, The Musical#18
Posted: 5/30/06 at 4:56pmI've seen enough with that picture alone!
re: Barbie, The Musical#19
Posted: 5/30/06 at 4:58pmBarbie's got such incredible form . . . no wonder the fairies are all excited!
re: Barbie, The Musical#20
Posted: 5/30/06 at 4:59pmI'm more perplexed as to why the drop in the back isn't all the way to the floor.
re: Barbie, The Musical#21
Posted: 5/30/06 at 5:03pmPerhaps because Barbie got stuck on it when they hoisted her up???

It sounds like a legit production. Here's a decription of their search for the actress to play Barbie:
"The actress that we end up casting in the role of Elina must have tremendous singing and dancing skills, as well as strong athletic capabilities. Barbie Live in Fairytopia' will tour 80 cities and is an elaborate stage production that includes a number of special effects--including flying, " said Eric Schaeffer, the production's director. "The actress we cast needs to have the sparkle and charisma necessary to act as the world's most famous fashion doll in our production."
