That's what HE said.
"Eris I know you miss Derek, but he is making more money in Grease than he would have made in Tale so you can be somewhat happy."
This tend to turn out the way they were supposed to. I'm glad I got to see him in the role.
Did Variety review the Sarasota production?
Yes, there was a Variety review but was written by the same guy who had been covering the show for the local papers/tv. His local review was good but his variety review sounded like he was trying to impress the "big guys"
A Tale of Two Cities
This cast is amazing! I can't wait to see it I need to order tickets soon :)! I already love Lazar, Edelmann, NATALIE TORO & Brandi Burkhardt.
But I have to admit I'm a bit suprised that a WILDHORN lady is making her debut in a non-Wildhorn show! Even though well Frank's not going anywhere towards Broadway for a while. Is that still like going on...(sorry to threadjack/broadwya love stories)!??
Does anyone smell a THE PIRATE QUEEN part 2? Except this show is written by an unknown.

Not only "a Wildhorn lady," but Wildhorn's fiancee.
God that guy's lucky.
ljay, have you seen the show?
Holy Cats!
Jennifer Smith!
Nope. And I didn't see TPQ either. But the reaction and pre-buzz on here is eerily similar.

Thought they were still an item! And he certainly is. I'm still jealous over Linda! And haven't they been engaged since like ........ 4 years ago?

The reason I don't smell another Pirate Queen is because the story isn't utter crap, and it could actually be something some people care about.
I just have a feeling Riedel is going to give this show a hell of a hard time because of Barbour.
Riedel's going to bury this show.
Riedel's going to bury this show.
- Agreed. It's opening early in the season, and that's not going to help.

"Had those people actually seen Brooklyn already though? I think there's a difference; that is if Eris0303 did see the Saratoga production. And besides, she didn't claim it would get nominated for anything except Natalie Toro's role. She merely stated that she "wouldn't be surprised" if it were nominated for other major awards. There's nothing wrong with that, it's a perfectly safe "prediction" to make without taking all other eligible shows into account first."
The show played in Sarasota. I saw the show on October 31 - second row center. I was utterly enchanted by the show as a whole. It needed some minor tuning up and some cast changes {Jessica Rush) but what I saw was a nearly "Broadway ready" production. Natalie Toro is absolutely a force to be reckoned with in this show. Having read the book I went in with a pre-conceived notion of what her character would be like. She totally blew that out of the water and changed my mind. She brought so much more depth to the character - depth that Dickens didn't give her. In the book I felt she was inherently evil. Natalie made you understand her need to do what she does.
Tony sweep? Really? I highly doubt it.
Take Eris0303's words with a grain of salt.
The whole reason she joined this board back in July 2007 was to rave about and defend the fabulous new revival of GREASE.
That is why I said this feels like TPQ pt 2. This thread is very shilly. And that's what happened with TPQ before it opened.
When The Pirate Queen was announced, I remember the Blockheads were ready to engrave her Tony before the first preview. The Pirate Queen was proclaimed as the next "big, epic musical," much the same way this one is. I agree with ljay, the similarities are quite uncanny.
For what it's worth, I've heard the demo and that act one finale (Until Tomorrow, I believe it's called) is like Les Miz Lite. It's such a blatant knockoff of One Day More.

I'm right there with ya. And not to speak prematurely, but Natalie Toro stands stiff competition by Susan Blackwell and Heidi Blickenstaff!

Les Mis was one of my favorite shows... This show stands on its own... The story is a classic, the music is beautiful.. you laugh, you cry... It's a wonderful show!
Wasn't James Barbour just in jail for molesting a minor? Hmm. I wonder...will you be taking your little sisters to meet him at the stage door ? And also wondering...How many ticket holders ( especially parents ) are aware of this.. and what kind of audience should they be? Just wondering. Don't attack me. I am not the one who has been convicted of a crime.
