Noticed this on the Rush page on Talkin Broadway.

"Barefoot in the Park
Cort Theatre, 138 West 48th Street (Between Broadway and 6th Avenue)
Running Time: 2 hours 15 minutes, including one 15 minute intermission
Performances: Tues 8:00 pm, Wed 2:00 pm, Wed 8:00 pm, Th 8:00 pm, Fri 8:00 pm, Sat 2:00 pm, Sat 8:00 pm, Sun 3:00 pm"

With a recently added addendum:
"Closes 07/23/06".

Can anyone confirm this?

Um...

Both Patrick and Amanda in separate interviews talked about them being in it for a limited run. Either it was just a 6 month committment or they expected to be replaced.

Their contracts are surely limited, but that doesn't mean the show's run isn't open.

Emcee, when did you see the show? While Peet yelled a bit at the beginning, it got MUCH better later on.

I saw it.... a week ago tomorrow.

I honestly wish I could've tuned her out and still followed the plot, but alas, she's the lead and THAT wouldn't have worked. It got better, but it didn't go away. I know Corie is supposed to be childish and whatnot, but not to the point where it like... completely hinders the performance's chances of not being annoying. If all judgement of her abilities were to be made on this performance, ouch. She's adorable, but that's not at all enough.

I'd love to see Parker Posey as Corie.

Amanda Peet was flat-out AWFUL, which surprised me, because I've seen her in other stage productions (Awake and Sing; This is How it Goes) and loved her. I think it has to do with being in a big Broadway house and feeling the need to overly project (ie, SCREAM).

I've always thought that Posey would be the perfect Corie, though.

I think there's actually an interview where Amanda says how this is so different because it's a big Broadway house, and she needs to "project." *headdesk*

I hope I get to see this *dodges tomatoes*

It looks very funny and cute, I like the movie, and I <3 Patrick Wilson.

I have a feeling it may close before then.

Jennifer Garner should definitly do Broadway...but she said she wants to be in a musical. Amanda was good enough for me...the play really touched me. I wanna see it again before it closes.

I saw BAREFOOT the week it opened and overheard a conversation at the box office where the patron was told the show was running until July 23rd. It seems like this was a limited run from the very beginning.

She did yell the whole time. It was awful.

I read the playbill interview with eileen atkins a few days ago, and she said it is important to like the character you are playing. I think that was the problem. Maybe Amanda Peet didn't like her character and therefore didn't "get" her. Not to mention her awful, inaccurate hair. Eveyone else was so great, though, I wish they'd replace her.

I loved Barefoot especially cause it was my first actual play (not a musical) on Broadway. Patrick was adoreable and I agree Amanda was so annoying with her yelling throughout the whole show but I did meet Adam Sietz, Patrick Wilson, and Amanda Peet after the show and they were all really sweet. I can't see that show running very long cause it had horrible reviews.
