I know he can be often up his own arse but he is at least accurate on theatre gossip most of the time.
This play sounds great and brilliant cast so far!
'Oh this is going to be fun! Rupert Friend, the fastrising, dashing young actor, will make his professional London stage debut playing a Hollywood heartthrob who keeps a big secret in his walk-in closet.
The megastar's ferocious agent, to be played by the Olivier Award-winning actress Tamsin Greig, sets up a deal where a 'wife' is contracted to marry Mitchell, the box-office superstar who would rather his sexuality not make the front pages.
You could think of a dozen instances where this has really happened, from Rock Hudson in the Fifties right through to. . . well, use your imagination and you'll think of a name or two.

The play, The Little Dog Laughed by Douglas Carter Bean, will begin performances at London's Garrick Theatre in early January. Rehearsals start on December 7.
I saw the play when it was on Broadway about three years ago. American actress Julie White played the agent and she was delicious. Every zinger that left her mouth hit a bullseye. Problem was, not everyone else was up to her mark.
But the ensemble being gathered by director Jamie Lloyd, producer Nick Frankfort and his team at Creative Management and Productions should be spot on. 'It's an audacious little comedy,' Frankfort trilled. 'It deserves the best we can find!'
The role of the 'wife' is going to be difficult to cast. In the Broadway production, the actress playing that part wasn't able to inhabit the role and her comic timing was off.
Anyway Ms Greig, last seen in the original West End company of God Of Carnage (she's now preparing to be in Stephen Frears's film Tamara Drewe, as revealed here), will put her formidable stamp on the movie agent part.
A lot of attention will be paid, rightly, to Mr Friend, who has displayed a strong acting range in films ranging from Mrs Palfrey At The Claremont to the more recent The Young Victoria and Cheri. He's an actor on the verge of major stardom
However, he also deserves praise for the discreet manner in which he conducts his heartfelt relationship with Keira Knightley.'

'Tickets for Love Never Dies, the musical sequel to Phantom Of The Opera, will go on sale - finally! - on October 8.
That's the message I'm hearing in various Twitter cyber-stations. Indeed, I have it on the highest authority (from the Phantom himself) that he will begin making announcements on Twitter from Monday and later there'll be pronouncements from the bowels of the Paris Opera on Facebook and loads of other social internet sites.
I can tell you that performances will begin at London's Adelphi Theatre in March.
Rehearsals will begin early in January, although those who follow this column will know that Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyricist Glenn Slater, director Jack O'Brien, designer Bob Crowley, choreographer Jerry Mitchell, lighting designer Paule Constable and other members of the creative team have been working on and off for a year on the show.
This week they were locked away at the Adelphi, as Crowley and his operatives worked on a series of illusions and special effects.
The composer told me that he wanted technical problems sorted out now, rather than early next year. 'I don't want to get to the eve of the first preview and find we're being held up by some illusion,' he said.
