while i enjoyed the cast immensely, i have to say i was overall disappointed with Musicals In Mufti. the paper Playbill (not glossy...just some color copies folded together) really put a damper on the whole night.

i understand they were trying to be cheap but there is ZERO staging.

and then Cheyenne didn't even come out for the talkback (which added to my sadness).

According to the stage manager, both Sho and Cheyenne left to make an appearance at Broadway Bares.

folkyboy: the Mufti series is usually MUCH BETTER than this crap we saw this weekend. Cheyenne was good, but the rest of the cast left something to be desired...and Lea Delaria was completely over the top and miscast. This was, by far, the worst Mufti I've seen (and I've seen five total). I have tickets for the next three and hope they are more entertaining.

I thought that the whole show was amazing. And to say someone is over the top in a musical written about superman is insane. That whole show is over the top. Lea DeLaria was amazing. I saw it on Friday night, and the best parts were when they improvised or messed up. The show isn't Miss Saigon, it's Superman!

I was expecting Shoshanna to be insane and riff everything, but she didn't, I thought she was great. Her version of "Oh Do You Love You" was better than Linda Lavin's. And give them a break about the paper programs, your ticket was like $35, you got what you paid for. Yeesh, there's just no pleasing some people I guess.

A few months ago, I saw a concert version of Superman at The Duplex that was far superior to the one this weekend. They were much more rehearsed and more professional. Mufti is usually much better than what we all saw last weekend, so yes, I was disappointed. I hope more thought is put into I and Albert in two weeks.

I And Albert actually looks great!!! Nancy Anderson is going to be seriously to- die- for in this role.
