Beau Bridges to Replace John Larroquette in HOW TO SUCCEED

Random casting, yes. Could have been A LOT worse, though. I think Beau will do a good job...I'd rather see JEFF Bridges instead, but that's how I feel anytime I watch Beau. lol At least they didn't cast an aging pop star or anything.

TRIVIA:
Beau Bridges was just in town a couple of weeks back, on October 16 in fact... for what reason? Non-googling types get a bigger prize. LOL
The number of people who will not see a show they don't want to see... is unlimited. Oscar Hammerstein

Beau is kind of like the movie version of an aging pop star, though... one that was never very famous to begin with.

What.....Oliver Platt wasn't available? from RC in Austin, Texas

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

I'm remembering people making similar comments when Larroquette was announced...and now he has a Tony.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

Albeit a Tony that is a bit of a head scratcher...

In your opinion. Aside from the Times--which really didn't like anything about the show--Larroquette received extremely positive to rave reviews and won the Drama Desk as well.

Also, why did they say "replace"? Shouldn't they have said "succeed"? Thank God I was here to fix it.

I HOPE HE KNOWS HOW TO SUCCEED HIM.

Nothing against Beau Bridges, but I think Craig T. Nelson would have been perfect.
Craig singing
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
