Not sure if this has been posted here, but just thought it was interesting that "Beautiful" is closing in the West End prior to a tour.
Are you saying it's closing before it even has a show?

What do you mean? They've been running on the West End for almost 2 and a half years. Unless I'm misunderstanding you...?
Now I'm confused. I'm saying it is closing and they are going to go on tour. I just find it interesting since it's still such a hit here in the states.
I'm shocked this crap is still running on B'way.

UK and US audiences are vastly different. There's been shows that have been wild successes on one side of the pond and flopped on the other. It's great that it's still running on Broadway as a hit but that doesn't mean it's surprising that the West End production is closing. I'm actually surprised it's lasted so long, it's one of those shows I always say I'll wait for the inevitable tour before seeing it rather than wasting a trip from Glasgow to London to see it.
I enjoyed it on Broadway - I thought the design was quite stunning - I just thought Act 2 had the better material - I'd much rather have heard her older music then the 60s type stuff.
It was always a limited run. It's actually extended several times from the original end date.

^ Not really, that's just how the West End works. Wicked announces they're "extending" every few months over there.
