This is stunning news that is very exciting! Laura Benanti ending her too-long hiatus from Broadway in one of my favorite shows. She will slay the score and I agree JoseLee, a cast recording is necessary. I love the 1994 recording with Howard McGillin and Boyd Gaines, although I'm still bummed to this day that they recorded after the supreme Judy Kuhn left the show and was replaced by the completely plain Diane Fratantoni. Laura will be a superlative Amalia Balash, I'm certain.

He sounds pretty good, his voice is at least pleasant.

Also, it's been 20 years since the last time it was revived so I wouldn't say it's too soon.

Just went back and watched Benanti on Show People from a few months ago. I guess this was the thing "happening in 2016 that she couldn't talk about but was excited for". & we all assumed it was Waitress, who knew? What a great secret Laura was keeping!

Someone said it is way too early. What are you smoking? The last revival closed in 1994, over 20 years ago. I think there have been 3 Gypsy revivals and God knows how many Cat on a Hot Tin Roof revivals, for contrast.

This is a great show and 20 years is overdue, as far as I am concerned.

LOVE this casting! Does that mean we're gonna have 2 Bock/Harnick shows in the same season, since Fiddler is opening in the fall? That'll be fun! I know Radnor can at least carry a tune. He sang on HIMYM a couple times, plus I've heard a bootleg of him as Paul in Company. "Today is for Amy" etc.

One of the best scores ever written for the stage. And Radnor, for my money, delivers the best performance in DISGRACED (along with Karen Pittman, the highlight of the production). If he's one of our new go-to leading men in musical theater, great.
