I'm looking at getting tickets for Once and was curious about how "bad" the view is from Partial View seats in the orchestra. In particular, I was looking at Row B, Seats 9-11. These are the seats as far as possible on the left hand side. I am looking for an aisle type seat, which is why I am considering this. As a tall individual, I could use the extra leg room to stretch out. Is the view poor from these seats? I did see BBAJ here, but I was not this far, and I don't know how significantly it has changed?

The price is still the same unfortunately, but they are even listed as partial view on Telecharge. I'm just curious of your experience in the Bernard B Jacobs theater and how the view from these seats may be?

Thanks!

Wow! That is ridiculous!

Thanks for sharing! I'm glad I asked.

I'm trying maybe for the other side, Row B 6-8. Do you think that is any better? Is the leg room pretty bad in the orchestra seats at this theater?

The staging of the performers watching around the stage is symmetrical, so I doubt it's any better on the other side. I thought it was all cramped and awful.

Try for anywhere in the mezzanine instead.

Just wondering for those who have seen Color Purple, how is the seating on the sides of the orchestra? I have the chance to see it with a discount and my options include. Row E seat 5, Row A seat 1, or row J seat 112. There are also mezz seats like row A seat 10. Any advise would be appreciated :)

Some of this IS about the props/staging for Once, and The Color Purple is a very different production with less use of props, so a vacuum being placed directly in your view etc etc. won't happen. I would definitely still be cautious, though.

I know this thread is old but I figured that I would recycle it instead of creating a new one. I saw once so I know there theatre is small but was more wanting an opinion of somebody who had seen CP to give me their insight."

I think the sides are fine for CP. The staging is mostly front and center, on low platforms as I recall. A friend saw CP from one of the boxes and said the view was good.

I sat in the second row for Color Purple (on the house-left side of orchestra center) and it was a phenomenal seat. There were a couple of times when a chair was parked in front of me on stage, but it didn't matter. Getting to sit so close for a show like this and see facial expressions in detail made for a really immersive performance that has stuck with me for months now. Not sure where A1 is off the top of my head, but if it's closer to the middle than E, I say go for it. It's a fabulous show no matter where you sit.

I saw CP from one of the "partial view" seats. I want to say it was like the fifth row, house right all the way on the end. Thought it was a great value for the price, as the seat was very good! Didn't miss much, certainly nothing significant as most of the action takes place center stage. Pretty cool seeing some powerhouse performances that close up, and I think the price was maybe $59? My experience was much like Judy's it seems.

Thank you very much for this comments, guys! I bought my rush ticket this morning and I was sure I was going to get box D, but then the box office guy told me it was less sided on row D left side (11), so I really hope I have made a good decission :)
