oh please theaternut it's not like i killed someone or maliciously hurt someone. i simply stated that i did not care for bernadettes performance in follies. apparently my mom and everyone in the audience each time i saw the show based on their weak applause for ms peters after each song she sang and even at curtain call felt the same way. jan maxwell and the other performers got all the well deserved applause.. let me also make it clear to all on this board that i actually like bernadette and even supported her b'way barks fund raisers.i just was't impressed by her sally. again, its only my opinion and i shouldn't have to be threatened with bad karma for voicing it.

oh and btw, people i'm sorry for dragging patti into this. i really shouldn't be making these comparisons but they are both often compared by theater lovers eventhough their performance styles are so different their genre is very much the same. i just feel patti seems to be in her glory on stage, while bernadette often appears like she can't wait to get off. again, just my opinion..

Oh, love! I've been here much longer than you ever will, and I can guarantee that most posters properly use capital letters and follow grammar and spelling rules in here.
I recommend looking into that, can't hurt.
"teach me tonite..."

Anyone who writes "ur" instead of "your" on a message board deserves to be crucified.

Oh, if only! Sock puppets used to try. Long time ago.
I'm guessing lupone76 is correct about the laziness that's displayed on forums becoming the norm. Actually, not laziness but lack of knowledge. I have a feeling the New York Times will be written all in one sentence with no punctuation or change in case.
I have a question for the many experts here.
Is her name pronounced "Ber-NAT," "Ber-NATTY," or "Ber-NATE?"
It's APPROPRIATELY pronounced "BURN - IT." This visual aid might assist with proper pronunciation as well as pointing out that she once performed with Snoop DAWG!
It's got to be "ber-NAT," like saying "burn that" with a Pittsburgh accent.
If you'd like to learn her style, here's a t-shirt from her acting school:
Is her name pronounced "Ber-NAT," "Ber-NATTY," or "Ber-NATE?"
I thought it was "Ber-na-TAY"
Why would you bring up Ms. Peters' performance in 'Follies' now? It closed in January. Anyway, she was definitely not "lackluster." It wasn't my favorite performance of hers of all time, but she doesn't even know the meaning of the word lackluster. I don't think she can be bad in anything if she tried.
