I know this would never happen in a million years.. but if Daniel Davis won for La Cage it could be the most hilarious and ironic thing ever. Talk about a shocking theater moment...

But in regards to your post.. Im hoping John Lithgow will pull a nod and they wont nominate one of the Spamalot guys and give a nod to another actor.. maybe Raul or Cheyenne

Doesn't matter who else will be nominated, this is Norbert's year.

The truly beautiful should be lawfully restricted from wearing clothing; and the truly butt-ugly should be lawfully mandated from going naked.

Well, I really hope not all three Spamalot guys for one thing.
I'd go with
Butz
Hyde Pierce (Curry does almost nothing, and I can't justify Azaria even though I loved him because he does not sing)
Esparza
Litgow (or maybe Cheyene Jackson in this spot)
B.D. Wong (sorry I had Morrison in the wrong category and want Wong in)

Morrison will be considered featured, I would imagine. They haven't decided yet, but I would think he's featured after seeing the show.

Norbert has the Tony locked this year, but we're likely to see any of these folks nominated with him...

No one from La Cage will be nominated, Esparza may be good, but he's in a clunker of a show, abd BD Wong won't be remembered. I wouldn't be surprised if Cheyenne gets a nod at this point.

Not that I agree with these, but they're my bets on what will actually happen.

You are almost certainly right bjive. I was kind of going with a wish list of sorts and a Raul nod more in the "we skipped him in the past" vein.
Its amazing I forgot B.D. and I am a huge huge pusher for Overtures!
Tim Curry is just so underused in Spamalot I would not be surprised to see him get a nomination, but there are many more deserving. If Norbert does not win, some heads may roll!

bd wong

obviously norbert will win (in my opinion), surrounded with nominations for:
curry, davis, beach, lithgow
that's just my opinion.

Norbert Leo Butz (who will obviously win) and Tim Curry are the two locks in this category, based on the buzz. I'd say the third slot will probably go to Cheyenne Jackson, and the last two are really up in the air.

Like everyone said already, Norbert is winning this year. I don't think Tim Curry would be nominated because his part really isn't that big. I still think all the Spamalot guys should be in the Featured Actor category. I havent seen the other shows, so I can't really say who would be nominated.

I honestly think the leading actor buzz for Spamalot has been much more for Hyde Pierce and Azaria, particularly Azaria. Curry is Curry so he has a chance to be nominated but that is based on his name, I honestly feel if anyone should get in based on name and reputation this time it is Litgow, he is a perfect foil to Norbert and the two play off of each other very well.

IMHO, none of the Spamalot men deserve to even be nominated.

And it IS definitely Norbert's year.

I wish the leads of Pacific Overtures had a chance at noms though...

Well, I'm yet to see Spamalot(the 18th, happily before the Tonys) and I'm planning to see Chitty soon but not ASU. I do have to say of course I'm in agreement that Norbert SHOULD already be writing his acceptance speech(stranger things have happened) but I still think Lithgow at least definitely deserves a nomination. He certainly got some laughs as Dr. Shiffhausen and handled the role great for what it was-just not the showoff role and Norbie stole the show.

When I saw La Cage, I remember thinking that they both deserved best actor nods, but that was way before the rest of the shows opened. Right now, I'd love to see a nod at least for Beach, but again, yet to see Spamalot or ASU, so I can't really say.

I frankly think it would be a shame if Tim Curry were nominated. He is simply going through the motions in Spamalot. The weakest performance in the show.

Well Raul should have won last year for Taboo and even though he is different in Chitty, he is still awesome.
Norbert Leo Butz will diffinately be nominated and should win
I dont understand why people think Tim Curry should be nominated. It is the same Tim Curry we always see.

Out of the three Spamalot guys, I think David Hyde Pierce's performance was the best. Of course, I saw the Chicago preview, so things could have changed...

I definately think NLB will win, if all of the reviews I've been reading are any indication.

Will Denis O'Hare (Sweet Charity) be considered leading or featured? I have a feeling he could figure into the picture as well, based on a few things I've been hearing. But I think that the only way he'll get a nomination is as a featured actor, since it looks like the leading actor slots are pretty tight.
