Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!
We all know that Mama Rose is the ultimate Broadway mom.
Who is the ultimate Broadway dad?

According to the Broadway.com poll, it's Tick from Priscilla. My vote would be for either Georges in La Cage or Emille in South Pacific.
Also, Finian gets a sentimental vote from me.

I like the sarcasm
How aboutGomez Addams, patriarch of THE ADDAMS FAMILY?... Billy Elliot's father?... I agree Mufasa is indeed a regal and wise dad for THE LION KING Simba...
Who else...?

Emile from SOUTH PACIFIC for sure.
I'm also partial to Tick from PRISCILLA and Georges and Albin from LA CAGE. I also think Andrew Jackson from BBAJ was a good father, despite his problems.
On the other end:

My first thought was Sweeney Todd. I mean, he goes to lengths unheard of for his daughter...
Most "prolific" dad would have to be the king of Siam...
Most iconic? I'd go with Tevye.
Might also give a vote to Maurice from Beauty and the Beast...

You can't be a good dad if you ignore your dead child's imaginary ghost for 17 years. That's neglect.

King Triton sacrificed never seeing Ariel again by giving her the very thing she'd always wanted. That's fatherly love.
