Hey guys I was wondering what your favorite broadway quote was. It doesn't HAVE to be a lyric, it could be dialogue. My recent favorite (I am probably forgetting some) is:
"It's like Ginger Rodgers said to Fred Astaire: Anything you can do I can do backwards....and in heels." - La Cage Aux Follies

i crack up every time i hear "throw me on the ground, and START ME LIKE A CHEVY!" (Ms Sondra from ASU) also from that show "ONE NIIIIIGHT WITH YOUUUUU!!" (whenever a character 'falls in love')

Here's just 5:
"Eliza, where the devil are my slippers?" My Fair Lady
"My dear little librairian, you pile up enough tomorrow, and you'll find you've collected nothing but a lot of sad, lonely yesterdays." The Music Man
"You're in a merry mood today, Mr. Todd." Sweeney Todd
"We'll not discriminate great from small.
No we'll serve anyone -
Meaning anyone -
And TO anyone -
At all!" Sweeney Todd
"Here we got a nice, respectable business goin'." Sweeney Todd
Obviously, I love Sweeney!

Well, it isn't from a show, but it's from a novel that was turned into a show.
"She reasoned that because she was beautiful she was significant."
"we're going over to my house to watch the mickey mouse club - annette's growin' up."
"our lives become the stories that we weave."
bad: any of friedrich's lines from Sound of Music. I hate that dorky kid. :) he;s so random
"Who do you have to fu*k to get a break in this town?!"
"They have one, two, two men! And we're all so poor!" -Urinetown
"I am beloved, and its because I am a b!tch." -Taboo
One of my favorite moments/quotes during one of my favorite shows. I had a friend of mine capture it in an icon photo. The last scene in "The Apple Tree."

What is your quote from, greatdct? I know I've read it, but I can't remember where it's from!
And my favorite Broadway quote would probably be "I didn't recognize you without the handcuffs" from Rent. That always makes me smile.

The Wicked novel. For some reason I was just really struck by that line. I've never forgotten it.
just look at my signature =)
just look at my signature =)
my favorite line in all of Wicked is
"let the green girl go"
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels:
Freddy: You...you're smooth.
Lawrence: I hope you can say that to me when I'm old and grey.
Freddy: I just did.
not my absoulte favorite, but a pretty good one. Specially with John and Norbert doing the parts. Cause Norbert is right on time with that last line. So fast yet so perfect.
There are only 25 registered gays in Putnam county, they only allotted us 2 and ½ blocks for the gay pride parade can you imagine the Judy Garland melody? *sings a bar* Opps were done see everyone next year!

touche.
I haven't actually seen Bee, I was just thinking of the music, which is mostly harmless...
I love...
"Our leading man was so gay...he nearly flew away...where did we go right?"
and
"Last night a star was born on Broadway - the lovely Miss Ulla
Inga Hansen Bensen Yonsen Tallen-Hallen Svaden-Svanson.
We predict that her name will soon be up in lights. If they can find enough bulbs."
From The Producers ^_^
Thernadier, I don't think it is an ad lib because I heard it in the tour as well and it's printed in the Producers coffee table book.
I forgot how the quote exactly went, but in ASU, Chad wanted to take a swim with Ed, and he said something about how they could slap their privates.
"Who do you have to fu*k to get a break in this town?" - Producers
