Best Featured Actress in a Play - 2006 TONYs

After seeing RABBIT HOLE today and absolutely adoring Tyne Daly's performance, I got to thinking about the race for the Featured Actress TONY this year.

Who do you think will be nominated?

Not sure where some of these actresses might fall, but just some guesses...

Tyne Daly, Rabbit Hole
Lynn Redgrave, Constant Wife
Jayne Houdyshell, Well
Frances de la Tour, The History Boys
Zoe Wanamaker, Awake and Sing!
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

A few other possibilities could be:

Martha Plimpton (Shining City)
Dearhbla Molloy (A Touch of the Poet)
Kerry Condon (The Lieutenant of Inishmore)-might be considered a lead?
Kathryn Meisle (A Touch of the Poet)

TYNE DALY ALL THE WAY! She rocks. Plus I want to give her some encouragement to hang around Broadway a little longer.

Another nominee: Emily Bergl (A TOUCH OF THE POET)

I'd also be thrilled to see Mary Catherine Garrison get a nomination for RABBIT HOLE, but I do know it's going to be a tight category this year.

I want to send some love to Mary Catherine Garrison too. I thought she was delicious in Rabbit Hole and totally deserves a nomination. I'm not sure who else would fall under Best Featured Actress in a Play (does anyone have a list?) but it would make me very happy if both she AND Tyne Daly got nominated. It would be hard for her to ever beat Lacey, but it'd be nice to see them on the same ballot.

I'm rooting for Tyne Daly! She was absolutely fantastic in Rabbit Hole!! re: Best Featured Actress in a Play - 2006 TONYs Mary Catherine Garrison played a key role in the story with her character and she was great, so I'd be so happy is she received a nomination too!

It's very good, and the performances are wonderful.

As of now, I favor Tyne Daly over the others, but there are a bunch of plays yet to open.

Yeah, I can't really comment because I haven't really seen too much else yet, but Tyne Daly is so amazing I'm throwing my support behind her right now!
